I Am 8 weeks 6 days today, I had a bleed at 4 weeks (saw baby at 5 & heartbeat) everything was fine up until Thursday morning when I woke up bleeding again, not huge amounts but it was every time I wiped for around 2 hours ! Saw the doctor and got booked for a scan had that yesterday morning and baby was fine measuring 6 days ahead!!! So 9 weeks 4 days now iv woke up to go pee and more blood 😢

I am so fed up, The woman who scanned me said she couldn't see any reason for a bleed and was more than likely hormones WTF does that even mean!! What do I do now? I cant keep bothering them at early pregnancy unit because they have never seen the blood and (fingers crossed) everything is always fine when I go!

What am I doing wrong?...
(2nd pregnancy, didn't have this with DD just one small bleed at 13 weeks)

Firstly, and most importantly, you are not doing anything wrong.
Some women bleed during pregnancy, some don't. Is the blood there just when you wipe or are you noticing it in between as well?

HJWT · 23/03/2019 07:20

@brizzlemint hi thanks for replying! No its literally when I wipe, it was twice last night and then it stopped!

Obvs I am not to worried as I had a scan yesterday and she said she couldn't see a reason for a bleed and its not a-lot of blood but its just really frustrating that it keeps happening 😪 I have the midwife on Monday so I will see what she says! X

Good luck with the midwife appointment.

I read that if you can a scan because you bleed you may get more afterwards as the probe can dislodge some that was there but hadn't descended.... does that make sense? So may not be a new bleed.

HJWT · 23/03/2019 07:58

@PrayingandHoping yeah it wasn't an internal this time though 😔 and me and DH don't even DTD anymore because of it xx

Happened to me too- really scary initially then very annoying and lasted till 16 weeks. It was a sub chorionic haematoma and it's way more common than I ever thought. Horrible though.

I've had it all the way through this pregnancy so far (I'm 9+2) it's the scariest thing ever seeing that red stain when wiping and I'm constantly panicking looking out for spots when I go to the toilet every day. So far baby is fine (as far as I know)
A bit gruesome but is it when you go to the toilet for number 2? That's when mine seems to happen or after sex (which I've stopped, poor dp, but I'm just too scared to do it atm)

I've phone Epu and they've assured me that as long as it's not flooding a pad with blood every hour, the odd spot when wiping can be quite normal and that as I'm still feeling so sick, they assume the pregnancy is progressing as it should. It's a waiting game until that 12 week scan. I can understand you're on edge constantly, it's awful x

I had nothing like this in my first pregnancy either but had constant bleeding (old blood though) from around 9 weeks until I was 14 weeks, no rhyme or reason for it and was told as long as it's not bright red or accompanied with pain/cramps then not to worry too much. I'm now nearly 18wk and no longer have any problems. It's scary but I think it can be quite common so try not to get yourself into a panic but mention to your MW at your booking in app. just so they're aware.

I've had four pregnancies. With my third pregnancy I bled on and off lightly throughout the pregnancy. They couldn't find a reason for the bleeding but they said it wasn't coming from the pregnancy when they did a scan, so was likely an infection in the vagina, like thrush, or pressure on my cervix. I had that baby at 39 weeks, but I had Braxton Hicks from 25 weeks , some with a little blood loss.
I know it is a worry though and it's stressful not knowing for certain.

Thanks for your reply's everyone!!

@kgeal3 the first time was after I went to the bathroom Blush but the second and third was when I woke up in the night to pee! My DM said it could be the pressure of a full bladder on my cervix? Xx

Hi @HJWT I had 7 bleeds throughout my DSs pregnancy and they never found and reason either. I'm now 8+4 with my second and had a bit of blood Saturday and today when I wiped but never flowed onto the pad. It's always so stressful :( I've booked an early scan for this Friday to hopefully see everything is ok so I can relax for a couple weeks until our 12 week scan xx
