Hey, I had my booking appointment yesterday and tested +++ketones in my urine, the midwife phoned the hospital to ask advice but they decided not to send me to hospital for an iv because I'm not actually throwing up - just feeling super sick so can't eat much! But I've done some research and most people with ketones were sent for an iv.. Does anyone have experience of this or know what I should do?

Avoid dr google. Even if everything definitively says you should have x done, the medical professionals make more clinical decisions based on your specific needs. Trying to treat yourself is the way to insanity.

Understanding treatment is useful, and knowing what questions to ask, but avoid diagnosing and self-treatment. You could ask why the iv isn't an option in your case.

That is kinda weird... I was told eating don't matter it's the fluid intake so u need to drink as much as u can coz ur clearly dehydrated! If u can't keep fluid down go to ur gp for a second opinion
