When did you start showing

I know everyone's different but this is my first pregnancy and I'm 12 weeks this weekend but I already feel like I've got a little bump to the point where a work colleague said the other day I'd got a little bump already. I'm only usually a size 8/10 and don't feel like I should have a bump so soon so wonder if I'm just being over the top or I'm bloated. So just wondering when did you ladies start showing with your first babies?!

In the shower, an obvious - to me - bump at 18 weeks.

With black trousers & t-shirt, carefully chosen jacket & scarf, work didn’t know until I told them at 27 weeks.

12 weeks is quite early. Maybe bloating? Or just you, seeing what you wish was there so you can show it off?

Heyha · 20/03/2019 23:31

It'll be bloat BUT the bloat is due to the baby so I think it's ok to call it a pregnancy bump 🙂

I'm 27 weeks and some people still say I'd get away with claiming to not be pregnant (to which I laugh) but realistically I've gradually got more obvious since about 20 weeks, mainly depends what I'm wearing. I think I'd have got a seat on a train without any eyebrows being raised for the last week or so anyway! My mum told me I 'looked big' at 16 weeks but many people at work didn't have a clue at that point, so...

About 20 weeks,

Izzy12345 · 20/03/2019 23:33

Hi I was showing early with my baby too. At 12 weeks I couldn't close my trouser buttons properly. I was so shocked and by 5 months had a proper bump. I loved it though, enjoy it x

Chilledout11 · 20/03/2019 23:33

From about 12 weeks I had a slight bump

Amelia910 · 20/03/2019 23:47

First baby. I ‘popped’ out at about 16 weeks then it got very noticeable by week 20. I’m 5’4 and always had a small waist so not sure if that made it more obvious! Week 23 now and there’s no denying I’m pregnant.

Esindi · 21/03/2019 03:41

I’m pregnant with my first and had to get maternity trousers and bra at 7 weeks, people started asking then too! I was a size 6 though before hand and I had swollen ovaries due to ivf. I only got bigger from then on and at 29 weeks I’m just start to slow down, it’s all at the front though and apparently I don’t look pregnant from behind.

Around 25 weeks!

Placebogirl · 21/03/2019 05:03

My first I went parasailing at 20 weeks having signed a form saying I wasn't pregnant. I had thickened through the waist (my waist was tiny pre-pregnancy), but just looked a bit podgy. By 27 weeks I was noticeably pregnant. My second I was clearly pregnant at 14 weeks, and at my 32 week appointment my doc said it was "a good thing [I wasn't] pushing this one out" (I had a scheduled caesar for medical reasons).

MayaLH · 21/03/2019 07:57

12 weeks sounds a bit early but like you said, everyone’s different. I personally started showing slightly at 15 weeks.

fleshmarketclose · 21/03/2019 08:08

With my last baby, the first time anyone noticed I was pregnant was the day after her due date but that was down to careful dressing. Usually I was about 28 weeks but I've only ever put on seven pounds when pregnant because of sickness and babies weighed between 7 and 8lb.

Bigonesmallone3 · 21/03/2019 08:13

I would say that's probably bloating with a first.
Mine was around 25 weeks..
Pregnant with hmmm third now and at 27 weeks I'm very obviously pregnant

whohaa · 21/03/2019 08:20

Oh my goodness, I was showing at about 8 weeks in my first pregnancy. It was really hard to hide. Now I'm 4 weeks, and I'm not sure I'm going to make it even to 8 weeks before everyone guesses.

Topofthehills · 21/03/2019 08:23

I'm pregnant with my first. I could tell the difference around 14 weeks - it suddenly became very obvious to everyone else at 17 weeks. People who'd seen me at 15 weeks and then 17 weeks couldn't believe the difference!

jcq17 · 21/03/2019 08:35

I'm 22 weeks and still don't look pregnant at all.

Peanut91 · 21/03/2019 09:39

I was in maternity clothes at 10 weeks and had a noticeble bump at 12 weeks. I grew rapidly until about 25 and then didnt really get any bigger

FineFanks · 21/03/2019 11:45

I'm 16 weeks and I have a little bump, it's very low down though.

At first I thought it was just pregnancy weight gain/bloat (still could be) but its solid not squidgy and I can't suck it in.

I'm not in maternity clothes or anything, just sized up and switched from jeans to jeggings - much comfier!!

FineFanks · 21/03/2019 11:47

Here's me in my gym gear the other evening... (to be fair, it is bigger in the evenings than the morning/daytime)
