I phoned to arrange my booking appt and they offered us the opportunity to attend a group session for first time parents. I agreed and am due to go but am now having second thoughts as will only be 8 weeks and it feels a bit early to be meeting other 'parents to be'.
Are group sessions this early normal?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Not offered in my area - at least we weren’t offered it.

We had this where I am (Bristol) it wasn't a meet and greet type thing, it was just about 20 people sat in a semi circle and the midwife went through the screening options, were given a bundle of leaflets and a proforma as well as a few urine sample bottles! I sadly lost my first baby and wasn't offered this for my second pregnancy - I think it was just an opportunity to give out information and get people to fill out the family history forms before going to the actually booking in
