Growth scan at 28 weeks

I’ve just had my 28 week midwife appointment (27+6 today) and it was the first time they’ve taken a measurement. I measured at 26cm so I’ve been referred for a growth scan.

She said it’s nothing to worry about and it could just be something as simple as baby being in the wrong position.

Heartbeat is good, he’s wriggling away and small bumps seem to run in my family so I’m trying to think positive, but it’s easier said than done. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Yep. We were measuring small at 20 weeks (measured 19) and smaller again at 25 (measured 22-23). Had a growth scan at 27 weeks and measuring spot on. My bump is still small but baby seems to be growing. Remember it doesn't matter if baby is measuring small as long as it keeps growing at the same rate. Mine was a worry as it looked like it wasn't for a while there but seems OK now. Will have one more scan just to make sure but feeling much better now. Baby's been breech and transverse throughout which makes it harder to get accurate measurements.

Ahh glad to hear all was well at your scan @pbobs.

My marathon google session seems to be all positive stories, it’s just Sod’s law, I HATE scans after a MMC last year and I thought I was done and could enjoy pregnancy after the 20 week scan. But it’s in little bubs best interests to make sure he’s okay in there 🙂

@Burtiebojangles just think of it as a chance to have another little sneak peak at baby. It's also a lot more relaxing once you get an official OK on something they thought might be a problem.
