Experiences with SPD?!

Hi everyone :)

I'm a bit concerned I have mild SPD (plan on going doctors as don't want to self diagnose) And just want to see what the symptoms are and other women's experience with it.

I'm 24 weeks pregnant and the last few days I have been getting this weird pain along my pubic bones, like on the knicker line. When I sit down I feel like I can't close or cross my legs as it's uncomfortable. I also have a pain in my lower back and sometimes when I stand I get this weird feeling run down either or both my legs.
I have an office job and spend most of my day sitting down, I do try and get up a lot but always seems to be worse nearer the end of the day.

But I don't know if this is just usual pregnancy aches and pains. Just paranoid it's going to get worse. Along with the rib pain I get I think i'm in for a tough ride! Lol!

If you work in an office how did you cope and did exercise help at all? (I've googled what exercises to avoid)

Thank you xx

I've been getting this also! Did you manage to get to the doc's to find out what it was?

Im office based and do a PT session once a week but will be stopping very soon, the pains i have down there arn't exercise related its more when Im walking or have had quite an active day

Hi @Zackisback878

No I didn't go to the doctors as I have my midwife appointment this Friday, so thought it best to wait to see what she says first.

From all the research I have done there isn't a lot you can do, except maybe get referred to physio.
I put my feet up all weekend and had lots of warm baths which seemed to help, however...my rib pain is bad today so might just be replacing one pain with another lol!

xx

It sounds like you may have a bit of SPD but also maybe a sciatic issue? I have one word: acupuncture! It’s amazing.

I had it in my first pregnancy, it was agony to stand up after sitting for a while and getting out of bed really hurt too. I'd wake in the night in pain as being still seemed to make me stiffen up and so I had to turn myself with my arms as any pressure on pelvis or sudden movements were painful. I was OK walking once I was up though and didn't need crutches or anything. There isn't anything they can really do unfortunately unless things have changed. Hope you're OK. I know ladies who have had it so badly they can't walk so hopefully it stays mild for you. X
