Consultant appointment?

I have my consultant appointment coming up next week...
I'm fifteen weeks, but I've been consultant referred because of a vast history of physical and mental disabilities within my family.
The twelve week scan went very well (I think, no one said anything at least).
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Will the consultant give me another scan?
Most of the handicaps aren't genetic (to my knowledge), but still feel very much out of my depth and super duper anxious.
My 16 week midwife appointment is two days after the consultant appointment as well so i won't be able to ask her...

Hiya

Is the consultant appointment just written in your notes?

I'm 24 weeks pregnant and in my notes it varies from doctor to consultant and they are pretty much the same thing.(Obstetrician) Just take a urine sample, blood pressure and ask how you are getting on. Normally in and out within an hour! Usually it's every 4-5 weeks.

I have a history of mental health but as far as I am aware this is separate to the consultant appointment and I see perinatal for that.

So may just be a regular check up!?

I saw my consultant and 15 weeks.. it's more for a chat than anything else so it's still so early.. they will probably get u to have another scan around 28 weeks

Sorry that was supposed to say at 15 weeks
I'm now 26+3 :)

And congratulations

I've had a consultant appointment at 14 w due to a blood issue. Very much a first meeting, given an idea of how things will progress, when I'll have extra blood tests, that baby will need cord bloods done on arrival and booked in for another consultant appointment at 28w. Done in 10 minutes, but I also got to see the midwives as an extra visit while I was there for urine check, blood pressure and they offered to listen to babies heartbeat with the Doppler 😊 it was a nice extra I wouldn't have had without the consultant appointment. You'll be ok, the consultant will just want to get a better idea of history and tell you if they want any extra checks done. I don't expect they'll scan you yet if nothing was raised following the 12w scan.

I had a consultant appointment around this time and I had no idea why. Neither did my midwife.
Turned out he just wanted to discuss my previous pregnancy which ended in an emcs and to talk about vbac.
It was just a chat and he then asked if I'd like to hear the heartbeat.
That was it. No examination, no bloods tested, urine etc. Just info.

I got the letter for the consultant appointment about a week and a half after my twelve week scan.
I have mental health issues (inflamed by pregnancy, but have yet to see perinatal mental health) and borderline BMI, but to my knowledge the consultant led is primarily due to family history.
But we'll see.
Definitely doesn't seem like a big deal.
Thanks ladies!
