Hospital Bag - Twins

Hi everyone

Due to go into hospital for our C Section in just over 2 weeks. I’ll be 34 weeks pregnant with twins. The babies bags are all packed and have been for a couple of weeks.

I’m struggling with what to take in my bag. I’m anticipating that we could be in hospital for a couple of weeks. So far I have:-

2 x nighties
1 x PJ set
Very large knickers
Maternity pads
Face wipes
Deodorant
Hairbrush
Towel
Shampoo/conditioner/shower Gel
Toothbrush/toothpaste etc
Slippers & flip flops
Actual clothing - leggings, tops etc

Do I need a dressing down? I’m thinking about one or both babies being in NICU and me getting down there to see them.

Is there anything else you think I will need?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Cant think of anything you've missed. Maybe snacks for after section. Something to read or listen to. When my DD was in NICU sometimes I had to wait on the ward for the midwife rounds before I could go down to her so something to occupy you.

Dressing gown was the best thing I took, only a thin one because hospitals are hot anyway so you probably wont want a big heavy one, but pockets are super handy when you're struggling to walk.

Best of luck with everything x

Phone charger? Kindle and charger / a couple of books?
Hand held fan - it was very hot on the postnatal ward I was in.
Lots of maternity pads - you get through them quite quickly.
I'd take a dressing gown or big slouchy cardigan too.
Best of luck.

Maybe some high fibre snacks to keep you regular. I had terrible constipation after my c section. Im making bran muffins to bring with me this time!!

I had my twins at 35w and my top tip is hand cream as my hands were wrecked from the scbu hand washing regime!

Also if you are planning on expressing podcasts or similar to listen to when pumping!

I massively underestimated the number of babygrows needed for my twins. I think I packed one eachHmm as my first born was a neat and clean baby! they lasted about two hours and then I had to borrow massive ones from the hospital. they need to be small!
