Good evening, please may I have some advice?

I had my first period 35 days after stopping the pill. It was a normal period lasting 4 days with the usual symptoms of period cramps, bloating etc.

Please note, I was only on the combined pill for around 6 months.

Today marks 35 days since my last period and I have no sign or symptoms of another one coming. I have had regular unprotected sex with my partner since. Would it be too soon to show a positive if I was expecting?

Thanks in advance.

It would be early but not impossible...your cycle length may be a bit unpredictable. By all means test but if you get a negative a retest in a week would be sensible.
The digital first response tests are most sensitive; using first urine of the day.
A word of warning that early positives can be ‘chemical pregnancies’ That were never viable and won’t continue. Make sure you’re prepared for that outcome if you want to test now.

@moreismore thank you for your help. I'm fine either way but just would like to know for piece of mind. Hopefully a period or positive comes soon but I expect it's just irregular cycles whilst my body readjusts.

Digital tests are NOT the most sensitive, most need around 25mui of hcg to show positive. Get a FRER (first response early response) as these are widely accepted as the most reliable on the market :)

@Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly thank you very much. Would you suggest testing now or waiting a few days? I will look into those tests.

I'd test now if you can get the first response ones. Word of warning, do NOT get the first response rapid results tests, they require around 100mui of hcg.

irony are first response ones digital?

Just had a google and I used the clearblue one which comes with digital and non digital which I think is where I’ve confused myself. Now I know! Smile

@Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly @moreismore day 38, no period and a negative FRER.

Hi,

We asked a midwife to go over some of the early signs of pregnancy. It might be of help.

pia2018 · 19/03/2019 17:04

@JoshMumsnet thank you for this, I have a few of these symptoms. Let's hope I have an answer soon.
