Hi. I had a double embryo transfer 6 weeks ago. After negative hpt I stopped progesterone 3 weeks ago but I’ve still not had a period. I have number of pregnancy symptoms but hpt still negative and yesterday hCG beta negative

Sadly, after 6 weeks since embryo transfer, if they had implanted your beta hCG would be very much higher than a negative reading.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, think it’s very unlikely but I’ve read on here about people whose HCG didn’t register until weeks 10, 12, 20 etc and just wondered how common that was. It’s just strange I haven’t had a period. Not even I stopped taking progesterone 3 weeks ago.

It’s very unlikely that those people were having blood tests, were pregnant and getting zero readings; more likely they were using internet cheapie urine test strips and/or testing during the day and just not picking up the hCG in the urine.

I have had ivf twice (second cycle worked and we are currently 11+3 with twins) and, though I can’t remember how long it took for my period to arrive after stopping the drugs after my negative blood test, but am sure it was a couple of weeks.

I would get back in touch with your fertility clinic and ask their advice. They may want to scan you or do additional bloods to see what’s going on.
