I know there are loads of these threads - sorry!

But I’m due with my first in October 2019 and wondering if there’s anyone else due October going through these raging baby hormones!!

Hiya! October 31st. Also my first. Did not expect the hormones at all crying about 3 times a day over nothing. Or crying that my bras don't fit! It's been amazing though.

Clare1990 · 16/03/2019 14:29

Congratulations @bex1115 🥳 Hahaha tell me about it - shed some tears over a rugby match a few weeks ago!!?! Scary how much influence this little baby has over mummy already!

The bras!!... I took a chance and bought a nursing bra (advice from midwife) - went to M&S, was professionally measured and spent a lot of money! Best thing I’ve done during this pregnancy!

Have you told anyone yet?

I’m due my first baby 25th October! Got my letters through this week about first appointment and scan which is exciting, something to look forward to. I have given up wearing proper bras, just in crop top type things as too painful and I don’t want to shell out on new stuff til after scan! Hormones raging this week, it’s very hard to get perspective on whether you’re being reasonable or not when you are uncontrollably sobbing!

Clare1990 · 16/03/2019 14:55

That’s really exciting @tomatan1990 congratulations to you! I have my first scan on Friday. Absolutely petrified but so excited to see the little bear! Still don’t quite believe it’s true.

I think its easy to be quite hard on yourself during the first trimester - I don’t know about you but I had expectations that I’d be glowing already and would be a pleasure to be around! So just feel guilty a lot of the time.

What symptoms have you got? Good and bad...?

OP posts:
Bex1115 · 16/03/2019 15:01

@Clare1990 honestly think my poor SO thinks I've turned into a psycho crying because of something on YouTube. And I've heard loads about maternity bras being the way to go so going to try that out today! I've told a couple close friends, hadn't planned on many people knowing. But one of my friends got a bit too excited and spilled the beans at work! Have you told anyone yet? Still trying to figure out how to tell family as only been with the dad since January! Big surprise but the best surprise we've ever had

tomatan1990 · 16/03/2019 15:06

Main symptom is just feeling exhausted pretty much every day. No sickness yet and eating like an absolute horse. I’ve told my mum and a few friends but waiting for the scan to tell the rest of my family. They’d never keep a secret otherwise so at least if we wait everyone can know at the same time! I think you’re right about being hard n yourself. It’s hard when no one really knows and you have to pretend to be normal!

tomatan1990 · 16/03/2019 15:06

Oh and thank you and congratulations to you both too!

Bex1115 · 16/03/2019 15:14

@tomatan1990 with you on the exhaustion! Always feel like I haven't slept in a week. I've not been too sick either, it's just the smell of ham that makes me sick. Forever getting judged for my cravings though have you had anything weird?

Clare1990 · 16/03/2019 15:18

Haha, it’s probably more emotionally draining for the SO not knowing what emotion is going to spill out of us!

Ahhh can’t believe your friend spilled the beans! That’s so bad! But I guess it’s nice to have a friend who owes you one during pregnancy?! Maybe she can cover for you while you sneak off for a long nap!!

We’ve told close friends and immediate family. Had an early miscarriage (6 weeks) back in November and it sucked just telling people that part - so told people at about 7 weeks this time just for support really.

How do you think your family will react? Are there any other babies in the family? I bet you’ll feel relief once you tell them all! Your life, your decisions 😊 remember to put you and baby first!

tomatan1990 · 16/03/2019 15:18

Haha not yet just food and lots of it! I couldn’t stomach meat for a couple of weeks too actually. Seem to be craving a lot of sugar but that’s probably just due to being so tired.

I found out at 3 weeks + 5 and this just feels like the longest wait of my life. Scan isn’t until another 4 weeks Thursday I feel like time is going so slowly!

Cherim90 · 16/03/2019 15:35

I'm due October 30th and usually I can go a month or longer without crying but now I can read a news article and start crying 😅🤦‍♀️ and my partner touching me winds me up I just don't want to be touched 🤣 congrats to everyone on here ❤️

Bex1115 · 16/03/2019 15:39

@Clare1990 oh yeah she'll definitely owe me one! And no no other babies. I'm the youngest in my family at 25! Not sure how they'll react but will hopefully not be too bad. Had an early scan at 6 weeks and everything was fine but still feels such a long wait for 12 weeks! Excited and nervous. Really sorry to hear about your loss. Glad everything's healthy for you! 12 weeks feels like a lifetime just now

Bex1115 · 16/03/2019 15:42

@Cherim90 aww congratulations! Yeah crying at absolutely nothing seems to be the running theme of all of it. 😂 hopefully that'll pass. The cravings change (I've gone from mashed potatoes, to banana milkshake, to Chinese food) but the crying stays the same

Clare1990 · 16/03/2019 15:45

The exhaustion is awful. Absolutely relentless! I had nausea from about 9 weeks and it’s fading away now which is nice. Telling DH that I’m craving Indian... I don’t think I am... I just like it and it’s a nice excuse!!

Congratulations @cherim90 🎉 what number baby is this for you?

@tomatan1990 it’s the longest wait ever isn’t it. When’s your booking in appointment?

OP posts:
Cherim90 · 16/03/2019 15:47

@Clare1990 number 2, my daughter is 6 in 3 weeks ❤️ what about you?

Clare1990 · 16/03/2019 15:55

@cherim90 it’s my first - but I have a gorgeous 8yr old step son. How does your daughter feel about having a younger sibling? 😊 When will you tell her?

@bex1115 how amazing to have the 6 week scan - did you hear the heartbeat? I bet your family are going to be so happy! Especially once they see the scan photo... I can imagine that puts things in perspective a bit seeing the little bean!

Have your bumps got nicknames? I love that I can ask all these questions and not get judged - I ask some of my friends who aren’t/haven’t been pregnant and they give me the psycho look!!!

OP posts:
Cherim90 · 16/03/2019 15:58

@Clare1990 aw that's lovely does he know yet? :)
I haven't told her yet going to try and wait for the scan and tell her then so we know everything is ok, I think she will be excited as she has always been good with my friends babies ❤️

Bex1115 · 16/03/2019 15:59

Didn't get to hear it but got to see the healthy little heartbeat! Cried my wee eyes out. And I call my wee bump jellybean. My friend who's a week behind me is calling hers peanut. Was talking about jellybean last night and SOs mum looked at me like a mental patient! What do you call yours @Clare1990 ? Yeah I'm sure they'll be okay once they see it and it's real.

Clare1990 · 16/03/2019 16:07

No @cherim90 same as you - we’re going to wait until after the scan. We’ll probably tell him in the Easter holidays so he has time to digest it.

Oh my goodness @bex1115 so happy for you! What an incredible moment! Mine is baby bear! My step son is “Roo bear” and I was “Clare bear” when I was young! Hahahaha can imagine that look - why is this psycho crying over jellybeans!!!!! Love it!

OP posts:
Bex1115 · 16/03/2019 16:15

@Clare1990 did you get an early scan? It was private and the price is horrific at £90 but was worth every Penny just for that wee bit of peace of mind to keep us going til 12 weeks. Still so nervous but it really helped. Baby bear is so cute especially being a family thing that's amazing! It's so much easier being able to call them something other than just "it" I feel mean when I refer to jellybean as it! Resisting the urge everyday to jinx ourselves by looking at prams and baby clothes!

Clare1990 · 16/03/2019 16:22

No I didn’t go for an early scan. Just got to wait for next Friday! Every time I hear “it” I think of that film with that freaky clown 🤡!!!!! 😂 I like jellybean... really cute!

Argh there’s so much to think about buying isn’t there! Going to cost millions!! Do you have your eye on a certain pram? I need inspiration! Lots of fun looking!

OP posts:
Bex1115 · 16/03/2019 16:31

@Clare1990 yeah been looking at some of the mothercare prams! There's a red travel system that we love. And being mothercare the price is quite good too. Had thought about buying my pals Black venicci travel system it's lovely but want something new. Going to cost a fortune but I've never been so excited to spend money! Will you be finding out the gender?

missrose0110 · 16/03/2019 16:54

Hi, can I join?

I had a mmc last year discovered at 12 week scan. I'm now 11 weeks pregnant again and feeling awful and tired ALL. THE. TIME. Scan is in around 10 days and I'm hoping all is okay this time, if it is, we would be due 7th October Grin

Bex1115 · 16/03/2019 17:20

@missrose0110 hi! Congratulations! Sorry to hear about your loss. Fingers crossed for your scan! Hoping it all goes well and everything is healthy! X

Clare1990 · 16/03/2019 17:24

Hello @missrose0110 👋 sorry to hear about your loss last year. Congratulations on your news... 10 days is so close! I’ve got everything crossed for you - lots of baby dust 💫

The theme for this group seems to be crying over everything... irrespective of whether it’s logical or not! Hoping that the tiredness passes once we all reach the second trimester!!
