Breastfeeding bra size?

Hi everyone,

FTM here currently 33 weeks pregnant with my rainbow baby boy Smile planning to breastfeed and have finally found a lovely nursing bra that is the perfect mix of comfy, practical and pretty. The only problem is I really don't know what size to order.

Pre pregnancy I was a 34C, my none underwired maternity bras are 34D and a perfect fit on the loosest hook. I'm readying that you can go up a back size and anywhere between 1 & 4 cup sizes, but also that you can come down in back size quite quickly after birth. I'm confused! Any advice would be much appreciated! Thank you!

You'll change whole cup sizes from morning to evening- I'd try a stretchy one at first then get a nicer cup size one once your supply has settled down after a few weeks/months.
I had one that came as small/medium/large and a crop top one and they were perfectly adequate for the beginning.
Prioritise comfort at the start!

Congratulations!!

I’m breastfeeding my 5 week old and using M&S nursing bras. They come in small, medium etc. rather than cup sizes. They are super comfy and you really do change sizes massively throughout the day!

Another vote for those M&S ones - I’m 36 weeks and just bought some meaning to wear them once baby arrives, they’re so much comfier than the non wired ones I was wearing (back size had gotten way too tight) that I’ve worn them since they arrived!

I went down a back size and up 2 cups. I also liked breastfeeding vests, hides that jelly belly stage (sorry!) in the first couple of weeks and after that are great in bed.

Sorry for the late reply and thank you very much for the advice! I have bought a medium size bra based on your suggestions and will wait to see what size I settle into before buying anything else. Thanks again, due any day now! Smile
