What maternity benefits does your company offer?

I am currently 23 weeks pregnant with my first, working full-time, studying for my masters and just about staying sane! I work in a male dominated industry and our maternity offering is really bad so for my dissertation I have decided to look into whether maternity benefits differ between male and female dominated workplaces. I'd really like to hear your views on this topic and I also have a really short survey to collect some data. It's completely confidential and I am happy to report back on my findings. I'd be massively grateful for your input.

How does one find out your employers maternity policy? I know my workplace has equal parental pay but not much else

Percentage males was a guess, though!

Done! Would love to see the results :)

Tinekittie2 · 14/03/2019 21:32

Just a thought... you haven't looked at the proportion of males in high up position (who may influence policy). My company has over 2k employees worldwide, leads in its field and it's very female-dominated in the UK, but the high up positions are dominated by males and we only get statuatory mat pay

Beingstevie · 16/03/2019 09:46

Tinekittie2 that is a fair point. I think that will definitely come into my analysis. A lot of workplace policy is designed by men who often don't have a clue what being a working mother entails. Going to spend today with my head in the figures and see what comes out!

BlackPrism equal parental pay would cover maternity as well I guess. You clearly have a forward thinking workplace!

I'm keen to know the outcome of the survey 😁
Or have I missed the results on another thread?
