Hi all,

Looking for some advice and reassurance.

4 weeeks + 4 days pregnant and in the last few days my symptoms have almost disappeared. I had a little nausea, dizziness, tiredness and hunger. But I feel normal today. Little heaviness on my lower abdomen but that’s all.

I had a missed miscarriage last Christmas so I’m so worried about every little thing this time - Confused - and a positive pregnancy test is not easing my mind as I had positives right until my DNC last time.
Seeing my GP this week so hopefully she will be able to give me some advice.

Anyone been in a similar position?

My mind is run ragged!

Thanks for reading.

@yankeehotelfoxtrot your still quite early for symptoms, my symptoms seem to come and go feel normal for a few days then today I feel like shit and just wanna be sick and sleep they started at 5 week ! Im 7+3 now xx

Oldmotherhubbardlivesinashoe · 13/03/2019 17:35

I'm also 4+4 and I'm having the exact same thing. I had a miscarriage in November so I've gone into panic mode.🤞it's just normal x

Mintypea5 · 13/03/2019 17:40

It’s quite normal. 4 weeks is still a bit early for symptoms they usually start more around 6 weeks. I know it’s worrying after a loss but try not to stress yourself. I’m 5+2 and last week felt mega nausea But this week ish calmed down a bit. They tend to fluctuate.

yankeehotelfoxtrot · 13/03/2019 18:29

Thanks for the replies guys. I really need to calm myself down I know, but it's so difficult.

@Oldmotherhubbardlivesinashoe - That's so crazy that we have the exact same dates! Congratulations! What's your due date? I've gotten 16November (on one app) and 21st November (on another app).

I might try and get an early scan, think 6 weeks is the earliest isnt it?

Thanks again for replies xx

16th of November I wonder if we will give birth on the same day 😀

yankeehotelfoxtrot · 13/03/2019 18:38

@Oldmotherhubbardlivesinashoe
Now that would be in synchrony! Best of luck to you xx

Hey @yankeehotelfoxtrot I'm also 4+4 today and due on 16th November.
Like you I also had a missed miscarriage in early December and am constantly looking for symptoms or worrying about every little thing. So I have no advice but nice to know I'm not the only one driving myself crazy. Best of luck to you Smile

yankeehotelfoxtrot · 13/03/2019 18:56

@mlphw oh my god that's so great! Congratulations!

Sorry about your miscarriage - it's the worst experience. I think we deserve some luck and happiness after that.

Thank you for messaging - I'll eagerly keep an eye on both of your progress xx

Thank you and best of luck!

The only symptom I had before about 6 weeks was sore hard boobs. At 6 weeks the nausea kicked in and hasn't left yet (10+5) Like others have said it's not common to get many symptoms until around 5-6 weeks as it takes time for the hormones to build up enough in your system.
It know it's hard, but try and stay calm and positive as otherwise its going to be a very long 9 months as there's always something to worry about.

yankeehotelfoxtrot · 13/03/2019 20:12

Thank you @Frizzy1986, appreciate your advice xx

I worried about exactly the same thing between about weeks 4 and 8. Some days I could wake up and my boobs would be really sore and then other times they wouldn’t hurt at all and I was worried about having a missed miscarriage due to lack of symptoms. I had an early scan at 8 weeks and the heartbeat was seen, so this provided some reassurance up until the 12 week scan, if you’re worried I would definitely recommend one. You can have one from 6 weeks. I’m now 39 weeks pregnant. Please try and stay positive x

SirVixofVixHall · 13/03/2019 21:41

What everyone else is saying. Up until six weeks ish I had variable symptoms, then one morning the nausea started and didn’t go away... although it did ease up a little bit at 18 weeks. ..at 4 w 4d you are unlikely to have strong, persistent symptoms so try not to worry too much. I wish all of you the best of luck.

Amanda81 · 13/03/2019 21:47

@yankeehotelfoxtrot - so pleased you posted this! I am too 4+4 and my symptoms have weakened. I also had a MMC in November last year, so I think this makes it so much worse as we are familiar with our bodies playing tricks with us. I am hoping to get to 8 weeks before getting a scan. Keep calm and look after yourself 🤗

Faedawn · 14/03/2019 06:08

I’m the same 4+4 today
Very few symptoms apart from my BFP I keep wondering if it’s real at all.
Had an ectopic last October.
I’m 34 and this could be my first if it sticks so I’m just a big ball of fear.
We could all just be big balls together :)

afternoontwee · 14/03/2019 18:52

I had no symptoms apart from sore boobs up until what I thought was 6 weeks (it was actually 7 - my dates were out).

That's when the nausea started. Until then I worked myself up into a panic because my boobs would start to feel better, then go sore again.

I told myself if I really really wanted one we'd splash out on a reassurance scan, didn't end up getting one because the nausea came on so strong, but just knowing I could get one if I wanted helped my anxiety!

yankeehotelfoxtrot · 15/03/2019 18:51

Thanks for the replies all.

Trying my best to stay calm!

Just wondering how everyone is who replied? Has anyone's symptoms gotten any stronger?

Only thing I have is slightly tender boobs only in the morning, and having to wee a lot few times during the night!!

Counting down till 8 weeks till we can get a reassurance scan! Tempted to get it at 6 weeks but don't want to freak myself out too much if they can't see anything.

Thanks everyone for understanding xxx

Very worried at 4+2. I am on a very low dose of thyroxine. This was prescribed last year when I became pregnant and my levels were boarder line (historically I have always had boarder thyroid and not be prescribed medication and had 2 healthy babies one miscarriage in between them).
Anyway, I was prescribed the thyroxine and I subsequently had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. I am pregnant again but have already lost symptoms at 4+2 and fear miscarriage
Has anyone had issues because of thyroxine? I’m not sure my body ‘needs’ it and I just have a ‘feeling’ the extra level in my body now, is ending my pregnancies?
Thank you so much in advance xxx

MariaDingbat · 05/04/2020 08:47

Please keep taking your thyroxine. Hypothyroidism is linked to early miscarriages, and if you have a boarder line issue you should be on meds to correct it. The fetus can't make it's own thyroid hormones till week 12 so relies on yours, if you have a problem producing enough then it can affect the pregnancy. I have Hashimotos, which causes hypothyroidism, and I had to up my meds as soon as I got a positive test. Have a look at your test results, ideally your TSH should be close to 1 and your T4 close to 22 for optimum support during pregnancy. Plus you need your levels checked every 6 weeks during the pregnancy. Good luck!

BuffaloCauliflower · 05/04/2020 09:19

I’m due same time as you, November 18th, so 7+4 today. Had a MC last year and constantly fretting at changing/diminishing symptoms. Still no sickness, though some cycling nausea/tiredness and heavy, uncomfortable boobs. I know not all women get sick (none of the women in my family seem to have actually thrown up in pregnancy) but your brain does connect pregnancy = throwing up and it’s a bit disconcerting when it doesn’t come. But maybe I should just be counting myself lucky and I’m one of those women pregnancy isn’t too harsh on? Only time will tell I guess

sel2223 · 05/04/2020 09:46

As others have said, it's very, very early for regular symptoms. I don't think mine really kicked in till 5 or 6 weeks and even now (20+3) they're very hit and miss.

Try and hold out till 8 weeks for an early scan if you can, OP. I had one when I thought I was 7+5 but baby actually only measured 6+1 and it caused quite a bit of distress at the time. Fortunately there was a heartbeat but there isn't always when the embryo is that tiny. I had a follow up when I was 8+2 and that scan was so much better....still teeny but more to see and a stronger heartbeat.

Good luck

Hello, I know it’s been so long, but how did it go?

NJOBX · 17/02/2021 09:25

Hi,

I am new to mumsnet and unsure of how to create my own post on here but was reading through this post and just wondered if anyone could give any clarification to me for my situation... (I don’t know much of the terminology so sorry if this doesn’t make sense lol)

I am now 8 days late for my expected period, which is now day 38 of my cycle. I usually come on between day 28-32 but have only once gone up to 40 days before starting my period. I had the coil removed 6 months ago and have had a period every month since. I have been experiencing really bad heartburn on an evening and early hours in the morning / through the night. Just yesterday I’ve started getting aching in my boobs (I never get this with PMS), I have a dry pale yellow discharge (no odour so definitely not an infection), I have been feeling really fatigued and tired and my areoles look slightly bigger and darker. I took a pregnancy test yesterday (day 37) and it was negative. I am not sure what to think or what to do but my body just feels different. Was wondering if anyone else was experiencing / has experienced anything similar?
