When did your partner first feel your baby kick?

Hi all!

I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant with my first baby and was just wondering when your partners/family were able to feel the baby kick for the first time?

I'm a bit overweight so I know this will be a contributing factor Blush

I didn't start properly feeling movements myself until about 20-21 weeks but just curious if anyone else has had the same experience Smile

I'm 20 weeks and feeling movement quite a lot when laying down but can't predict when its about to happen so haven't been able to let DH feel, if he can even feel it from the outside at this stage.

Dp felt baby move about 20/21 weeks but I'm slim and it's third baby..

Baby stop moving every time I put hand there

My DH felt at 19 weeks. I felt from 17+3. Good luck OP.

20 weeks. First time we saw movement too

Buddytheelf85 · 12/03/2019 18:34

Somewhere around 18/19 weeks, but only when I was lying on my back.

I’ve got an anterior placenta and first felt gentle swooshing around 21 weeks, proper kicks around 24 weeks, DH first felt it around then too and now we can see it rocking, rolling and hiccuping several times a day and it’s the best Smile

AnneLovesGilbert · 12/03/2019 18:38

Also probably because of where my placenta is - like a blanket over the baby at the front of my bump - I only felt proper movements when I was lying on my left.

I started feeling flutters around 17 weeks, and proper movement from 18 weeks. DH felt real proper kick at 18 weeks too, but I think that was just an extra strong kick and he got lucky to feel it. He didn't feel anything again until I think maybe 20 weeks.

Beckyv88 · 13/03/2019 10:22

I think about 18-20 weeks for him to feel little flutters. But I think that’s considered pretty early. They asked me at my 25 week appointment if I’d felt the baby yet so think it’s normal not to.

Abouttimemum · 13/03/2019 10:27

I felt it at about 21 weeks and hubby at about 23 weeks once it stopped hiding from him lol. We got lucky one day. He only started feeling it regularly at about 25 weeks onwards.

I first felt baby at 19 weeks but only little movements and DP felt the baby at 23weeks. Such a lovely feeling xx
