Hi all xxx
Im new here, just joined.

Im 38 and found out 2 weeks ago Im expecting my 4th child... bit of a shock but happy about welcoming a special new addition.
I miscarried 18 months ago but was not in a very good place mentally and very very stressed... where as this time its different.

I started spotting after sex last tuesday and was sent for an early scan at the Early pregnancy unit
Was so relieved to see my little jellybean all well with a nice strong heartbeat of 141 bpm❤
I have spotted on and off ever since... most of the time it is pink/orangey in colour but now and again there will be a red ringe or a few red specks.
Its when I wipe and doesn't end up on the panty liner.
I do remember spotting with both my sons but that was 15 and 13 years ago so finding it hard to remember how much and for how long🙈

I want so badly for this little one to be ok...
I get some cramping and lower back pain which tends to come and go but nothing severe.
And its about the time of the month my period would be due

Has anyone else experienced this but still had a successful pregnancy??

Sorry for the long post... im just worrying and need others to talk to ❤

Kim xx

Hiya,
I had exactly that with this pregnancy, I'm now 12+2 but had this around the 6/7 week mark. Went in for a scan at 8 weeks and everything was perfect. I know that it doesn't stop you worrying (it hadn't me either, was great for a week or so!). I had an mmc in 2017 then it's taken 18 months of ttc to get pregnant again so I understand you're desperate to keep this baby!

The EPU where I live said to just keep coming back and they would keep scanning me if needed but luckily I haven't bled since. Can you go back for another scan?

And from what I understand the lower back pain and cramps are normal too, I freaked big time but apparently normal, I still get them from time to time!

I don't have my '12 week scan' until next week so can't give you any more reassuring as I don't know myself 🤦but once I have it I will let you know either way! I did read that recurring miscarriage isnt that common but in my mind I keep thinking that it has to happen to someone so why wouldn't it happen to me!

Good luck with everything and if you're still bleeding see if they will scan you again xxxxx

Good morning!

I had a MMC last year, no spotting at all until week 12 and then they scanned and told me. .

I fell pregnant again end of last year , we had a lot of sex and I started spotting which turned to what I can only describe as a really light period of dark brown / light brown blood for a bout a week. I put myself on pelvic rest and spoke to docs. Was about 5/6 weeks. The early pregnancy unit scanned me and saw strong heartbeat. Had a 12 week scan , measured at 13 weeks all is well.

I would say if you are worried call the EPU they won't mind at all and I am sure would be happy to offer you another scan or advice.

All the best. X

Thank you so much for your replys I really do appreciate it❤

I had a call from the dr this morning letting me know I have a urine infection and have antibiotics to collect... so wondering if that could be causing some of the crampingand spotting too...
Still spotting a little ... thats 7 days today.
But this is when I would usually be having my monthlys too xxx

Some people just do have little bleeds throughout pregnancy, best to just mention it to the midwife and if it's concerning you get another scan, that's what I would do!!

Got everything crossed for you 🤞 xxxx
