23 weeks pregnant and I keep doing such stupid things. Tonight I just took a swig of the end of a bottle of water that id forgotten I dropped a cat worming tablet into (to keep it out of the way so I wouldn't touch it accidentally). I don’t think I swallowed and I then brushed my teeth and rinsed about a million times but still convinced I’ve poisoned us 😣

I just had some food but wondering if I should make myself sick just in case any did get swallowed.

This is not the first time I've worried I've done something awful.

Having had a google, and assuming it's drontal- I wouldn't worry. One of the ingredients has been shown to be bad news IN VERY HIGH DOSES FOR SEVERAL DAYS in pregnant sheep and dogs. However, you have had a tiny fraction of a cat's dose once- and you are rather larger than a cat. So the amount you have taken is, at worst, tiny.
One if the other ingredients is regularly prescribed to pregnant women, and the third has no evidence for harm so is sometimes used for pregnant women.
I am not a doctor though!
If you are worried you can ring 111, or you could try your midwife.
Un-mumsnetty hugs though! I can totally imagine doing that!

Oh dear. Try not to panic. If you didn’t swallow and rinsed your mouth out straight away it’s hard to imagine how any of it could have gotten into your system. I don’t see that making yourself sick now will help any - not like you have a whole undissolved tablet in your tummy.

There’s nothing wrong with calling 111 and getting the opinion(/reassurance) of someone qualified.

Thank you both. I called my midwife in the end, and she said something similar - low toxicity so if not symptomatic nothing to worry about. Still - worrying makes me feel sick so hard not to feel a bit queasy.

I'm trying to be so careful - honestly must wash my hands 100 times a day - but then I'll go and do something really stupid.
