have you had periods through your pregnancy?

my friend has a suspicion she is pregnant but is still having periods. i have heard of people still getting periods at 6 months etc, but is this something that happens because you are on the pill or can it happen if you are not on the pill?

i had two light ones in the first trimester.

my aunt had periods all during!

she was overweight and had no idea she was pregnant for nearly 6 months.
