He doesn't seem to want this baby

I'm currently 13+4 with our 2nd baby

We lost our daughter, Chloe, on 21stmar h 2018 at 22 weeks due to group b strep and ecoli infevtion causing my water to break.

I've had 2 rounds of antibiotics tho time and am just waiting on another set of results to come thru as to if I need to be put on them throughout

And, as much as I'm hating this pregnancy, I've wanted and needed more support so my family know.

He won't tell anyone. Had to force him to tell his mum this weekend and he's saying he wants to wait til our private gender scan (at 17 weeks) to tell anyone else

Why doesn't he want anyone to know? It's like he doesn't want this baby. It's not like we can hide it, I look pregnant and am in maternity jeans!

Sorry for your loss, I can’t imagine how awful that must have been for you both to lose your little girl like that.

I’m guessing he’s probably scared of having another loss. It’s quite possible this pregnancy has brought back memories of your daughter and he might be struggling to deal with it. So much of the support for miscarriage/stillbirth is focused on the mother that I think dads are often left out and struggle to talk about their feelings.

Will he talk to you about it? Counselling might help if he is willing.

Have you asked him?

There's a difference between not wanting to tell anyone, and not wanting the baby.

We didn't tell most people until I'd had my gender scan, too.

In this case though, maybe he doesn't want to tell anyone in case something goes wrong, and then he has to tell them all something has gone wrong? I can't blame him to be honest.
