Hi is anyone having problems finding car seats to fit their cars? I have a Ford kuga (underfloor storage issue) and we can't find a seat to fit my husband's BMW due to angle of the seat! Getting seriously fed up of trying pretty much every seat mothercare have and getting nowhere!

Have you contacted the in car safety centre Milton Keynes? They are marvellous and will help you.

You can get fillers for the underfloor storage. Try Britax flex base to compensate for the sloped vehicle sheet.

Don't bother with icsc they are very anti underfloor storage when all the other car seat experts on car seat advice UK take a different view

Does britax still have its on line car seat fit finder?

Thelieswetelltoourselves · 09/03/2019 18:49

It does but in this case physical fitting us preferable

What does icsc mean? Haven't heard of the place in milton Keynes. Will try to get in touch with them. Thank you

@Hopefulforourrainbow in car safety centre

Surely the storage thing is only a problem if you have a seat with a floor support? I’ve had a variety of different seats for different ages and never needed a floor support

I also recommend the in car safety centre. We ended up there after having the same issue in mothercare. Trying multiple seats and being told they wouldn’t fit our car. Ended up getting the original seat we wanted after the ICSC fitted it no problems and told us they had lost count of the number of people who had ended up there after being told by mothercare a seat didn’t fit!

Have managed to order fillers so its not the biggest issue

I had issues with the angle of the seat in my Ibiza a couple of years ago. We managed to solve the issue with a cybex car seat + isofix base as the fixings pivot, with a cylinder foam wedge at the base of it. This allowed the seat to sit as it should and kept DCs head up correctly.
