Has anybody tried that?
Three months in and I'm just now realizing that after i take my prenatal i vomit daily (cheap wilko one lol).
Just trying to find out if it's worked for anyone else before i shell out ten pounds...

I took it. It tastes vile. Didn’t help with the sickness. Can you just take folic acid and vitamin d? Or change the tile of day you take your vitamin?

Are you taking the vits on a full stomach? I've read that helps.... I try and stick to roughly the same time each day and thankfully haven't experienced any sickness, I take mine after my evening/last meal. I use the pregnacare original tablets as that's what my midwife gave me... xx

I use liquid pregnacare, I don't throw up with it and I love the taste!

Parent19876 · 09/03/2019 12:33

I went out and bought seven seas prenatal, as that's what i took when i first found out i was pregnant and it stayed down.
Reading reviews of the taste of the pregnacare really put me off Shock as still super nauseous
Thank you all for the input!

I’m taking it. Yep vitamins should be taken with your main meal. They don’t taste great but I figured if the toddler can manage to take hers then I could pull up my big girl pants and deal with it.

Boots do an own brand Vit D and Folic acid tablet which has been a life saver for me. It's also MUCH cheaper than other branded supplements, so a win win for me. Never tried Pregnacare liquid, but I say the tablets caused my morning sickness....

I found that a daily berocca plus vitamin D did just fine for me. I got my vit D from holland and barratt as they did really tiny tablets about the size of a contraceptive pill, so they didn't make me gag.

I should have kept up with it after my pregnancy- i never had such nice nails!

teacuptale · 09/03/2019 19:11

You just need to watch the Seven Seas pills for the vitamin D. I think the pregnancy one has the recommended amount, but I stopped the trying for a baby one when I got pregnant as it only contained half the recommended vitamin D. I take Pregnacare liquid and find it overly sweet, but I’m no good with big pills so it’s the best option for me.

Yep the seven seas prenatal ones are short on vitamin D but you can get haliborange kids' chewable vitamin D and calcium tablets which make up the shortfall. They taste better than a lot of sweets so those and the tiny prenatal is what I've kept with, with as good a diet as I can manage as well! I realised the other day that I'm eating a lot of breakfast cereals for the carb/sweet hit as well and they are fortified with various vitamins too so that will help a little towards daily intake as well.

It's ok initially, an orange flavour....but has a bad aftertaste!! I couldn't stand any prenatals...

happydays00 · 10/03/2019 08:28

I really didn't think it tasted that bad... found it much easier than trying to swallow the giant pills!

Kimsha · 04/11/2019 16:39

Started taking this because I can't do pills bigger than Cetirizine Hydrochloride. The taste is fine so far! I take it after a meal as directed and no issues.
So grateful for this otherwise I was going to take a Vit D spray + Folic acid powder.
