Hi ladies,

So I ended up in hospital this evening as babies movements had reduced... I'm 39 weeks + 1 day!! He's absolutely fine though and they said everything was normal... She did pick up on the monitor that my uterus was contracting and asked if I could feel anything, but as I said I've only been getting a little tightening on and off....

Anyway they offered me a sweep which I accepted, FTM and it was bloody uncomfortable to say the least 😳😩 She said I was 1cm dilated and that she was tickling babies head... 😳👶🏻

She said she'd be surprised if I was still pregnant come Monday, but who knows 🤔

I've come home and have had a little blood which I know is normal and also feel as if I've got period pains... So I'm trying to relax in the bath...

In my notes it also says '1.5cm Thick'.... Do any of you ladies know what this means!?

Thanks in advance 😊

The cervix is normally about 3-4cm long/thick during pregnancy, and when you go into labour it not only dilates (which is the cm measurement everyone usually talks about) but it shortens and flattens out (effacement) in the early stages. So 1.5cm is on the way to being effaced, but a way to go yet!
