Could it be twins?

Hello Everyone, last week I tested positive (pregnancy test was as bright as possible) for pregnancy. Today, I went to the OB for confirmation and bloodwork . I also had a sonogram done. I was told I'm at around 4.5 weeks. I was also told that I ovulated twice from the same ovary. I'm assuming that means I could be carrying twins. Twins do not run in my family so this is all so new to me. I'm mostly concerned this is a healthy pregnancy but wanted to see if anyone has any experience here that could tell me if these are all signs that point to twins?

Not really could be or could not be.

What on earth could they see at 4.5 weeks?!?

They saw that my right ovary ovulated twice is all. They really didn't see anything other than the sac is in the uterus.

Based on my last period I am 7 weeks but my periods are so off theres no telling really.

Yes, it could mean fraternal twins but only time will tell! Congratulations Flowers

How can they tell where you ovulated from?

polkadotpixie · 09/03/2019 16:28

@Leleophants Ovulation leaves a corpus luteum cyst behind on the ovary which is visible on an ultrasound

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I think fraternal twins would have two sacs so if sac was visible but there was only one perhaps twins is unlikely?
