Pregnancy testing...

I missed my period by a week on Wednesday and so decided to do a test first thing on Wednesday morning to either rule it out (because I’m never normally more than a day or two late) or confirm. I bought a ‘Clearblue digital with weeks indicator test’ and it came back with ‘Pregnant 3+’ on it! This clearly explains my craving for certain foods and somewhat mood that I’ve been in! Do I need to do another test as some people say it would be good to do two or three and to be sure but surely this is enough right? Unfortunately the digital result only showed up on the screen for 24hours and now it’s a blank screen. If I go to my gp’s can they confirm it right away? This is my first pregnany and still have mixed emotions, still trying to get my head around it but I’m very happy and nervous too!

Thanks for reading and I’m sure I’ll Have a lot more questions along the way! :)

False positives aren’t a thing, so if that test said you’re pregnant then you’re pregnant.

Also the GP doesn’t usually test again, if you call your surgery they’ll advise you whether they require you to see a GP or whether they can just make an appointment with the midwife - it varies, some places insist you see a GP first, some don’t.

I'd say it was right lol 3+ weeks means there's a certain amount of hcg levels I'm sure. Congrats OP 🤩

My gp just asked for a urine sample and I had to phone in for the results to confirm it as if my 6 tests were lying 😂😂😂

Thank you! I’ll call up my gp tomorrow. I will be apparently 6 weeks this coming Saturday according to the app I’m using and a calculator tool so I’ll see if it’s possible to make an appointment to see the midwife and see at what stage and how many weeks I can do it.

Again thanks for your replies! :)

Congratulations OP. I only ever did one test and no-one asked me to do anything else (e.g. provide urine sample). I saw midwife 8 weeks and am now 31 weeks 😁 Good luck x

Thank you :) so many emotions and feelings and worrying... but exciting at the same time even though it’s early on :)

Good luck to you too :)
