It all started as I had a sore throat so rang out of hours Tuesday evening. Went to the appointment and doctor said I had tonsillitis so gave me antibiotics and sent me home. I went bed and woke about 1 feeling awful and I was in pain so I rang 111 again and they sent an ambulance. The ambulance took me to hospital because I had a raging temp and pulse was very high at 146. I was left out in the waiting room in A&E on a drip from 2am till 10am then got put to a side room with a “comfy” chair 🙄. When examined they said my tonsils look fine and had the flu swab and that come back negative. I was then sent round to maternity at 4ish to check baby over, the ward then get a call saying after further testing I had the flu! I was admitted and put in a side room straight away. I’m still here being monitored as mine and baby’s heart rate are high, my temp is up and down and I have low blood pressure. I feel awful 😔. Anyone else had flu?

Yup. I had it at 12 weeks with my second - along with a kidney infection. 72 hours of antibiotics and then it took me a good 8 weeks (sorry!) to feel anything approaching normal. You WILL get there though. Just hang on in there!

EnidAlexandraRollins · 07/03/2019 19:37

I had a 3 year old too! It sucks.

KaidensMum12 · 07/03/2019 19:40

@EnidAlexandraRollins oh it's horrible isn't it. Wow that's a long time, I can't wait to start feeling better. If I was allowed home tomorrow what's the chances of my 3 year old catching it you think?

@KaidensMum12 did you not have the flu jab?? Don't go near your 3 YO if they haven't had it either!!

My DH got the flu (me & DD had the vaccine) he passed out and smashed his head of the toilet, I thought he was dead!! They gave him Tamiflu he felt a bit better after 3 days but its took around 6 weeks for him to feel normal again, As soon as he was home from hospital I disinfected everything xx
