hello there, just wondered if it was possible to fall pregnant soon after the removal of the mirena coil.... my gp said it could happen as soon as coil removed, however some sites say it takes a few months for the progesterone to leave your system....
had coil removed on 01 june whilst having some bleeding, 2 days after had very very heavy period lasting for 7 days. had intercourse on the dates that an ovulation calander suggested and my period is due next friday... so fingers crossed..
if anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated..

Had mine removed mid-August last year, got my BFP on November 6, so took approx eight weeks to conceive. Now 39+1 and willing LO to get a move on!

I did get v excited the first month because my (.)(.) felt weird too and was nauseous, but got my period after 31 days.

You never know, though - hope it`s good news!

dizzyheather · 09/07/2007 11:44

yeah, have a funny feeling that it is just another bad period coming to be honest... never mind, will keep at it.......

39+1....rub your nips it will start contractions... have sex, all the usual stuff good luck

well just done a test and yee ha it was +ve. in shock really... just thought i would be as lucky as to fall on my 1st month off the coil.

bit worried tho ( paranoia i know) as between each child had a m/c so have ds1, mc, dd2, mc, ds3, so fingers crossed history will not repeat itself.....

Congrats on BFP. I had mine removed in May and have had 2 periods, 1 week apart each lasting a week. Having had no periods for almost 4 years am all mixed up about dates etc - would I be due roughly 28 days after start or end date of period ?? When would I therefore test?

honey28 · 12/07/2007 17:07

Meant to say, try not to think of previous patterns - I'm sure this one will be just fine and we will all hope and pray hard for you

dizzyheather · 12/07/2007 20:03

hi honey 28 thanks for your kind words....
my previous message should have read i didnt think i would have been as lucky!!! pregnancy hormones obviously affecting my typing and bain already!

i have always been on a 35 day cycle, i last had a period starting 9th june, so 35 days on was due one again 14th july..
so you were 28 day cycle before? if so then 28 days starting from the 1st day of your last period.

i found this site which works out your most fertile days etc and touch wood it appears to have worked for me...www.babyhopes.com/ovulation-calandar/plan/cgi
