Had a growth scan today and Dr seems concerned that my PI is raised. Possibility of early delivery if nothing changes. Anyone had this? Can't seem to find any info on the web. TIA

Yes I did. Blood flow in brain was at first good but on rescan had dropped and one growth measurement appeared to have stalled compared to 10 days earlier. As I was nearly 37 weeks by then induction was strongly recommended and I consented.

Baby was born fine and healthy and I don't regret it. I'll never know what would have happened, but it's a possible marker of the blood flow in the cord reversing and baby being starved of nutrients, and a significant risk factor for stillbirth. I believe it can also be an indicator of placental failure. My placenta looked fine when I delivered, but you don't get a lot of warning if they fail.

If it stays high and you aren't yet full term I think they will monitor growth very closely. If you are close to full term they will probably plan to deliver you as soon as possible after 37 weeks if any other indicator looks concerning. I had a lot of CCGs as well in the week between the problem being IDed and my induction.

Listen to your medical team, ask questions and don't panic.

Sorry, CTG not CCG.

Wow that's scary stuff, well I'm going for another scan on Monday, hoping for the best, bit worried about waiting the weekend now. Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I had this at around 24/25 weeks - how far are you? I had to go for a scan every week or two and like PP (very) early induction was mentioned for me. Luckily things improved and it wasn’t necessary, I’m now almost 37 weeks but still having regular scans to keep an eye on things. It is scary, sorry you’re having to deal with this.

I'm 34+5 so I'm fairly close anyway, just want her fattening up as much as possible. It's just scary to think something can go wrong this close to the end.
