Blighted ovum

I had a scan yesterday showing an empty sac measuring 6+5, last night I had awful cramps and a bit of pink discharge when I wiped, and today the pains are less painful but the pink has now turned to a light brown. Does this sound like the start of a miscarriage?

What did they say at the scan? Did they book you in for another one in a couple of weeks time?
I think miscarriages can vary so much person to person that its hard to say based on the physical symptoms you have. I had a blighted ovum miscarriage in August and for me, I had some light bleeding with no cramps on a Tuesday, went for a scan that showed an empty sac (I should have been 8 weeks, they didn't say anything about what it was measuring as).

They said my dates could be wrong or it was a blighted ovum, and they'd book me in for a scan 10 days later and one of three things would happen a)I'd miscarry before that scan, b) the scan would show the same and they may intervene to end the pregnancy, c) my dates were wrong and the scan would show development.

The bleeding stopped a little then came back a few days later and I bled heavily and had bad cramps over the weekend. The second scan a week later showed I had miscarried.

Its horrible but I think the only thing that you can do is wait Flowers

Thank you @MeredithGrey1

I've been told to go back next Wednesday to be re scanned, they said I could just have got my dates mixed up so I'm not as far along as I thought or it could be a blighted ovum. I found out I was pregnant on the 16th of feb so I could of just got the dates wrong. Last night the pain was mostly in my back which makes me think it is a miscarriage because it was painful enough for me to take paracetamol and have an early night. They also notice blood around the sac which I'm guessing is not good, I'm just a little scared because I had a miscarriage 14 years ago and it was horrific. Lost huge clots and haemorrhaged 3 days later and ended up in hospital 🙈
