Could this be pre eclampsia?

Hi there, before I start, I am due for a growth scan today and to go see midwife at local hospital, I just feel so worried and need a little reassurance.
So for the past few days I've been feeling sick and dizzy and had blurry vision, as well as seeing bright lights floating around. I don't seem to be weeing as much and just feel generally crappy. At my 34 week appointment the other day, midwife said that baby was measuring small and I was to go for a growth scan to check all is okay, however blood pressure and urine was all fine, but I only started getting these symptoms the day after I saw the midwife (It's been 2 days now) so I'm not sure if I'm just worrying over nothing, or if it could be the start of pre eclampsia? Has anyone ever had this? Sorry its long and thanks in advance xx

Definitely menition it to them in your scan today as they will be able to check your blood pressure, I am currently in hospital at 38 weeks for high blood pressure with similar symptoms!

Definitely mention it, preeclampsia can creep up suddenly! any swelling/headaches l?

Unmumsymum94 · 07/03/2019 09:55

I have slight head ache but no swelling but a pins and needles type sensation in my legs and feet. I've put it down to stress and tiredness but then I started being sick and feeling really dizzy and these weird floaty things in my eyes. Don't know if I'm just panicking or what but I just don't feel right.

Hi, it could be preeclampsia def mention it asap. Could also be a virus / infection or anything. Best to get checked x

Please ring up your midwife or maternity unit, they may ask you to go in early. I don't want to scare you but this can go downhill fast. I was fine, went in for scan at 4pm and was rushed for a c section as soon as they could. Had baby less than 8hrs later.

Even if everything is fine at your scan appointment, please get seen again if you feel worse later. I had HELLP syndrome with my eldest, although I was very unwell my bp and urine we’re normal, no noticeable swelling etc, right up until I was in hospital getting checked out. I’d been seen for monitoring the previous day and was due to be seen the next day, when I phoned triage about my symptoms they told me to wait until the next day for my appointment which would probably have ended very badly. The first sign something wasn’t right was baby’s growth slowing right down.

Appointment at 11 so will mention it as soon as I'm there. Just the feeling that something isn't right is enough for me. Thanks for your responses ladies, hopefully I'm just panicking over nothing

My dr told me that pre-eclampsia comes from the Latin for "like Thunder" as it can hit quickly and from no-where.

I had it in my first pregnancy and my main symptom was a really bad headache but these things always affect people differently so definitely, definitely worth being checked out. I hope your appointment goes well.

tartandreams · 08/03/2019 09:20

How are you op?

Unmumsymum94 · 08/03/2019 10:14

Baby is all fine, Dr said urine and bloods are all fine just told to keep an eye on it as they are the sure signs of pre eclampsia. however there is something wrong with the umbilical cord (plulsality index or something like that?) And I'm to go for a scan every couple of days now, slight chance of baby coming earlier than planned. Anyone ever had this?

I haven't but hoping by posting I'll give it a bump for someone with more knowledge. Good luck @unmumsymum94
