Hi guys, trying to work out our finances. How much did you get after tax? Thanks x

If SMP it will be minimal tax - depending on how long you’re off for. Tax threshold this year is £11,850.

It depends on your salary and what time of year you start getting paid smp. For average earners who give birth in mid April, you probably won't get above the tax threshold. If you give birth in February, you will pay tax on it as you have probably already exceeded the 11.800 allowance for the tax year.
