When will morning sickness get better?

Currently 7w 3d with baby number 2. In struggling. Feeling nauseous from when I open my eyes to when I go to sleep. Only actually thrown up about 3 times. Every day is dragging because I feel so so ill. For ladies that suffered with nausea when did it start getting better if only slightly? Praying it’s not too longer x

I had similar, I'm pregnant with number 2 and felt sick all day and could barely eat but eating was the only thing that helped a bit.
I'm 11 weeks now and the last week it's started to ease up a bit. Hope it happens quickly for you!

Really don’t know how much longer I can deal with it, it’s actually unbearable. This will definitely be my last child x

Currently 13w4d and still going strong I'm afraid. Will also be my last, had it been my first it would have been an only child! Good luck, I hope it passes soon x

First pregnancy MS stopped 12 weeks, second time 15 weeks.

It is so tough and I really sympathise! I had medication this time around for it and it really helped and made it manageable. Would definitely suggest speaking to your GP.

I was sick as well (although though not hyperemisis level) and ended up quite poorly in hospital in the first trimester and was discharged with cyclizine which I was really reluctant to take but definitely got me through the awful days. It may be worth speaking to your midwife/GP. Hope you feel better soon.

Courtney10891 · 06/03/2019 19:25

My doctor has perscribed cyczline. She told me to just take one a day so I’ve been taking it before bed. I’m not sure if this has helped to be honest. How many tablets was you taking a day? X

So sorry you are feeling like this, it is truly awful. I'd definitely agree with pp and try and get some meds if you're really struggling. I didn't and mine didn't start up improve until about 22 weeks I think and never fully went away. I managed somehow but lost a lot of weight - not what you want to hear but I wish I'd sought out some help as I feel I missed out on a lot due to feeling so crap! I think it's more common for it to stop between 12 and 16 weeks and I hope you feel better really soon x

Cakeandslippers · 06/03/2019 19:31

Cross post, that's great! I hope it helps!

DinoMamasaurus · 06/03/2019 23:34

I had Cyclizine and could take up to three a day as needed (obvs check what it says on your box re dosage). Some days I really did need all three but once i got started I generally was fine with two and then just one, before not needing them anymore.

When I was in the thick of it I found the morning dose the most critical so maybe try that.

Fingers crossed they help.

Week 14 for me for most of the symptoms to subside, although I took Vitamin B complex as recommended by my OB-GYN from week 8 and it changed everything for me. Can't recommend enough! Took alot of my nausea away. I thought I was dying before that.

Newyearsameoldshit · 07/03/2019 08:48

I am on cyclizine and needing 3 a day.
If you take it at night I would have thought it would wear off before you wake up and you'll feel ill all day - try taking it in the morning.

purplemama1990 · 07/03/2019 16:15

I had the same as you, started at around 5 weeks. I felt extremely nauseous all day long even if only vomited every once in a while. I was so nauseous I couldn't eat anything, which only made it worse I think. On top of that, I was ridiculously exhausted and only ever got out my bed to go to work, then was straight back into bed as soon as I got home. It dragged on and on and I thought it was never going to end. As horrible as it sounds, I even kept thinking that I didn't want to be pregnant anymore.. This lasted until around 12 weeks, when it started to ease up a bit and was pretty much gone by around 15 weeks I think. I'm 22 weeks now, still more tired than I normally would be, and feel nauseous every once in a while if I haven't eaten... but overall, I feel much more like myself. So don't worry, you'll get there! Just need to make it through that first trimester and you'll be fine hopefully! Just try to eat if you can, small things eve, just nibbling, will help a bit, and get as much rest as you can.

BillyAndTheSillies · 07/03/2019 17:22

Nausea is 24/7 at the moment. Wake up feeling sick, walk around feeling like I'm on a boat. The only thing stopping the nausea is eating and it's back literally the second I wake up.
With my first pregnancy I felt like this until 18 weeks, without throwing up once.
This time around I've been sick twice and am 8 weeks at the moment.
Booking in appointment is tomorrow so I'm going to ask for some advice for anti nausea, although I'm guessing it's only GP's who can prescribe it?

MegCharlotte · 07/03/2019 21:00

I've been suffering badly since week 6 and I would say it's just about getting better (I'm 14 weeks tomorrow...) try not to let yourself get hungry, it makes it much worse. Snack little and often.
Good luck and hang in there, it's bloody awful.

Sandrine1982 · 08/03/2019 09:21

Hi. Same here - bad constant nausea from around Week 6, now only starting to easy off at Week 14. Good luck ;-)

KateTTC123 · 08/03/2019 10:16

OP I had terrible sickness up until week 17 with both. Cyclizine didn't even touch the sides but prochloperizine helped a bit; might be worth asking for that?

Bells84 · 08/03/2019 10:48

I have just popped on this thread for some advice as since hitting 5 weeks I have felt sick all day, everyday. I’ve not told any friends or family yet so reading your experiences has put my mind at rest that it is THAT BAD.

Franc3 · 10/03/2019 19:50

Hi, im 7w3d and this is my first. I feel awful ALL DAY! I've not been sick but the nausea is horrendous and i knackered. I can see why my mum only had me! Can its stop now please?

Blue92x · 13/03/2019 09:51

With my first; it was all the way through from morning until night.
Currently 28 weeks and it actually stopped around 14 weeks this time and I’ve only been sick a couple of times since 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hope you start feeling better soon xx

JoshMumsnet · 13/03/2019 10:29

Hi,

We asked Clare, a midwife, to run through when morning sickness normally fades, and the best ways to deal with it.

Hopefully it's helpful.

Hope you feel better!

Courtney10891 · 24/03/2019 16:24
