Hi,
Currently 7w 3d pregnant with baby number 2. Since 6 weeks I’ve been dealing with all day 24/7 nausea. The only time I feel slightly better is when I’m eating. With my first son I had the same problem and put on 4 stone! I literally only managed to lose the weight a few months ago and bam I’m pregnant again. I’m so scared I’m going to put on that much again. The only thing I can eat is carbs carbs carbs!! Trying to get out and about and do lots of walking but I feel so so sick! Feeling pretty down x

The only thing I can suggest is try to eat healthy snacks. At that stage I found fruit really good because i didn't get a strong smell from them. I bring a bag of snacks to work to try to force me to be healthy...an apple, banana, oranges, cashew nuts, yoghurt all between breakfast and lunch. Sometimes one of those chocolate protein bars which are about 200 calories but fills me up for longer than a regular chocolate bar.

9 weeks here with DC2 and in the same position.. have to eat to not feel sick all the time and carbs is the only thing that will cut it. Already feel huge as I'm about ten pounds heavier than when I was this stage witb DD1 and I guess my body just has relaxed and bloated out even more than before. Want my maternity jeans now! Also scared I will be huge by the time the baby comes. No advice whatsoever but sympathy as I definitely know how you feel!

I’m the same. 11+2 and eating constantly because of the nausea. I’ve put in half a stone. I’ve just decided to do what I have to and worry about it when baby is here. Xx

I put on a similar amount of weight with dd (that was after I gave birth too!) and am scared of the same thing happening again. I suffered with nausea throughout with dd and had to constantly eat to help. It’s the same this time, the nausea has been bone crunchingly bad and constant and I’m just doing what I have tonto get through. If it helps I’m now 23 weeks and weight gain is stabilising a bit than 1st trimester but I’m still eating what feels like double what I usually do because it’s the only way to cope with the nausea. I’m trying to eat healthily where I can (first trimester it was pretty much nothing but potatoes but now I can eat a few more things even if I am still restricted). I have my dinner in 2 sittings so I have one plate of food but I wat half of it, leave it for an hour then eat the rest so that it lasts for longer. First trimester I was literally eating at keast every half hour. People who said they had to eat every 2 hours I was so Envy of because mine was constant. Now I’m managing every 2 hours, sometimes more sometimes less. I was waking up every hour or so in the night to eat but that’s dropped off too. I’m trying to be active when I can but this aggregates the nausea so I’m very limited. My logic is I’m more aware of my gain this time (last time I refused to weigh my self and was in total denial telling myself most of it was water weight, it wasn’t!) and am weighing myself regularly and logging it so I haven’t got my head in the sand about it. I think some people just gain a lot of weight or need to eat frequently because their body makes them to get them through it. I was 2 dress sizes bigger after I had dd and then went up a further dress size in the first year with bfing causing insatiable hunger. It’s going to be tough, I’m going to feel down about it. I’ll just have to work hard.
