HELP! Paid for gender scan but measuring under required weeks

Hi guys

I bought a gender scan via a private scanning clinic and it cost me about 100 pounds. It's not refundable or changeable and they make sure you are certain. We were certain due to other scans, that the date we booked for the gender scan would be 16 weeks. They only tell the gender from 16 weeks like most places, and it's tomorrow we are booked in.

However. I've had a hospital scan today, and it's measuring me at 15 weeks. Even though due to other scans, I should be 16 weeks.

I can't refund this scan, so I'm going to wing it. Do you think they will still be able to see the sex? The scan also includes 4d. I'm measuring exactly 15+1 tomorrow. Surely 6 days doesn't make a difference?! Opinions?! X

6 days will make a difference to whether they can accurately tell the sex or not. It's 16 weeks for a reason. Very few clinics advertise from 15 weeks for sex.

Presumably you had a 12 week scan? It's that date they'll go off for your Estimated Due Date. Providing that puts you at 16 weeks tomorrow, they'll likely have a policy to offer you a re-scan if they cannot tell. Every place I've looked at so far says so long as your hospital notes prove you are 16 weeks, we will offer a re-scan if we can not determine the sex.

I was 15+3 for my gender scan, and they told me correctly the sex of the baby.. So only 2 days different to you

@arabella120 How did you get on, OP? I hope they scanned you and you found out.

The place I had gender scans was from 15 weeks, they just asked to see your notes to stop people booking in sooner although didn't ask for mine, they will rescan if they can't tell as long as it's over 15

We got ours at 13 weeks
