I am 22.5 weeks and so uncomfortable, don;t remember being this uncomfortable in previous pregnancies. It feels like I am constantly being stretched.

I'm not particularly short, 5'4", but I've got very long legs and a short body. I've had a lot of rib pain from about quite early on too and I've put it down to there being less room than the average person has. This is my first pregnancy so I'm not sure whether it's normal or not.

That was a bit of a nothing answer sorry I couldn't be more help.

oh the rib pain!! I know it well. But I do feel stretched all day.. I am only 5ft and this baby is a wiggler so that isn't helping.

Hiya, I am a shortarse too am currently 28+3 and everyone says I am carrying really high. My bump starts from under my boobs and has done from about 22 weeks. Also I get pain in my ribs on the left-hand side and am not sure if this is to do with being short. Ah well, hopefully our babies will be small to compensate!

xx

I'm a tiddly 5ft & ds was over 9lb - was struggling to breathe from 20 wks on but for some mad reason am putting myself through it all again....have decided not to eat so much to try & stunt baby's growth - though when I say 'decided' - my enhanced sense of smell & persistent nausea are really helping there...ho hum

Miaou · 07/07/2007 22:30

Sparkly, I am a shortie (5'2") so I can empathise to an extent! When I was pg with ds I carried him really low and it was so much more comfy than the dds! This one doesn't feel too bad (though with two weeks to go it's getting a bit heavy ), but at your stage (midway) I was pretty uncomfortable. All I can suggest is that if you get kicked by a stretching foot/knee/elbow, grab hold of it and push it back in!! Seriously - I did that all the time at that stage!

Also I know like me you are on your fourth baby and therefore the uterus is more "stretchy" - means the baby can push out a lot further than in previous pregnancies. Even the consultant was astonished when this LO stretched and commented that he could almost make out the toes

Maddison · 07/07/2007 22:33

I'm only 5ft aswell, and am 32 + 1. My bump starts under my boobs aswell and I look absolutely huge (and get quite pissed off when people feel free to tell me so!!) I'm convinced that if I was taller, I wouldn't look so big...

Miaou · 07/07/2007 22:35

Hmm, may not be your height maddison. My bump is quite small (though with ds it was huge!) - no correlation really!

sparklygothkat · 07/07/2007 22:38

I didn't know you were pregannt again Miaou!! wow!!

I can see this baby moving about and can feel it lots. I am sure I wasn't this uncomfortable in my last 3 pregnancies

  • am 38 weeks SGK!! I didn't think I had kept it that quiet

Stretchy uterus is to blame for the discomfort (she says knowledgeably ) - that's what I've been told by lots of different people (ie medical people, not just random people on the street, btw )

doyouwantfrieswiththat · 07/07/2007 22:42

lol at random street people commenting on your stretchy uterus

sparklygothkat · 07/07/2007 22:45

lol, haven';t seen or spoken to you for ages.
