38+5 sweep!

Pregnant with my second. I’m 38+5 and just had my first sweep! Heads engaged and quite low! Anyone any success stories with sweeps?

You lucky lucky person!! I'm 40 weeks tomorrow and don't think my MW will do me a sweep!! Confused

I'm 39+3 and had one today too!! It's an amazing big pregnancy and I'm almost completely immobile from pgp, so I think they took pity on me!!

Feeling quite uncomfortable and had a bit of brown and pink bleeding... but nothing starting (yet)! Not even bh, which I've been having tonnes of!!!

I've got another one Thursday if nothing kicks off before... and then another one next Tuesday. I'm keen not to go very over 40 weeks because of some very slim evidence about placentas starting to fail earlier in ivf pregnancies than natural conceptions...

I have one on friday, my due date. I doubt I will give birth naturally I may have to be induced!

I'm 40+5 today. Midwife tried to do one at 39+6 and my cervix was still closed so she didn't try and do anymore as she said it would be painful for me. Having another one tomorrow and if it doesn't work I've told DP I'm just going to turn up at the hospital and demand they get this baby out of me 😂 I'm so uncomfortable!!!

I had one today too I'm 37+2 and being induced next week so they want to try natural first.

I had pain in my back right after i had my sweep... I've had bright red bleeding and pink then had a very sore burning pain across my left hip.

Was already having start stop contractions before so still niggly.

Not sure if my waters have went or I've wet myself I've put a pad on lol xx

Oh no! That sucks. Though I don’t think success rate is great, chances are it wouldn’t work for you anyway even if they did it earlier?

I’m not holding my breath. But I am in absolute agony this evening. My hips are so painful whenever I move or walk!!!!

Nothing happening for me today. Oh well. Hopefully yesterday mean she'll be able to get in a bit more on Thursday!

@physicskate me neither. Any pains have stopped. Just my hips are aching, can really feel how low she is now. They do say it can take up to 48 hours for a sweep to work? I’m holding on to that haha x
