Losing mucus plug at 28 weeks

As above, this is my second pregnancy and I have been losing pieces of mucus plug for around 36 hours now, just wondering how normal this is? I went into preterm labour at 35 weeks with my first baby and lost mucus plug during this but not before!

I'd say just keep an eye on things for signs of preterm labour again and contact mw if you're worried
But mucus plugs can and do grow back.
I lost mine fully at 35ish weeks and then again in labour at 39+4

I remember losing some quite early with my DD but delivered full term. I'm 30 weeks now and have had lost some twice already. The midwife told me it grows back.

With your history I'd just call to double check though so you aren't worried.

Thanks for posting OP. I'm 29 weeks and think I have lost a small amount of plug last week. No blood in it though. Had my last baby at 29 weeks but never saw the plug so I'm keeping an eye out for more. It was only a tiny bit (size of a thumb nail) and looked like very thick discharge (tmi sorry!)
