So I'm currently sitting here in a+e with my
One year old son who became unresponsive after developing a rash there saying there fairly positive its chicken pox.

I'm 37 weeks and due to be induced next week.

Can anyone tell me if my babys at risk and now that he has the spots means he's been infected already so my baby would have already contracted it in the womb ?

I'm freaking out please help

I’ve just posted a similar thread as I’m 37 weeks too and DS has been exposed to chicken pox but doesn’t as yet have symptoms.

Fingers crossed everything is ok and the doctors can reassure you. Do you know if you had it yourself as a child?

If you have had chicken pox am pretty sure you are immune to it. When i was pregnant with dd2, dd1 caught chicken pox and the midwife said baby would be fine as I was immune to it. I would speak to your midwife.
If it is chicken pox he should have recovered before your baby is born.
Hope your ds is okay and makes a quick recovery.

I had a very mild case of it as a child so unsure if im immune.

Thank you I'm just trying to make him as comfortable as possible feel so bad on him he has a ear infection in both ears which he was just on anti biotics for. Clear to see why he's being so out of sorts.

Hospital have said I'm at no risk having had them before and late stage its apparently just 1st and second trimester that is dangerous and baby should be covered by me for up to 12 days after there born too xxx
