31 weeks pregnant and hiccups

Hi I'm 31 weeks pregnant and my baby gets hiccups at least 3/4 times a day. She has been having them since I was about 28 weeks but it was about every other day and they to at least once a day. But in the last week it has became 3/4 times a day now.... is this normal? I had a scan at 30 weeks and I'm due one next week (for other reasons) and everything looked okay on the last scan but has anyone else experienced this? What did the midwife say? I mentioned it at my last app when I was just getting one a day and they she said some babies just do get them.

My little one was the same every night at ten o clock for a wee while.

All it seemed dd did in the belly was hiccup, she had them at least 3 times a day every day and still does as a newborn.

Yep

Both of mine were very hiccupy in the womb.

It was funny with dd as my whole belly would jump Grin

My baby had hiccups all the time in the womb and still does now at almost 18 months. Just Remember that hiccups don’t count as movement when you’re monitoring your baby’s movements so if you're ever concerned they’ve been a bit quiet then follow the protocol for that and don’t get false reassurance from hiccups.

I'm 31 weeks now and experiencing the same thing! Never had it with DD, but this time it's several times a day. Is it still happening for you OP?

SuzieBishop · 20/03/2019 12:35

I'm 31 weeks too and my DD has them a couple of times a day - absolutely nothing to worry about OP.

SingingSands · 20/03/2019 12:59

My DS was the same - 3 times a day without fail! It was lovely Smile

Did anyone feel that it was after they ate? It seems like I scoff my food, and he gets the hiccups 🤭

TiredTodayZzzz · 20/03/2019 14:25

Mine was the same, she was even hiccuping while I was in labour on the monitor. She had the hiccups every day until she was about a year old as wellGrin

Stormwhale · 20/03/2019 14:28

My dd was the same. She had them multiple times a day. When she was born she had bad reflux and I have since read articles saying there may be a link. Don't know if its true or not.

Eliza1419 · 20/03/2019 16:18

I've also read about hiccups in the womb possibly being an indicator of reflux. Has anyone else had a hiccupy baby that went on to have reflux?

OnlyLittleMissOrganised · 20/03/2019 20:16

Oh it sounds really cute! A hiccuping bump! 😁

This thread has reminded me that this happens! I’d totally forgotten and have literally just felt them :)
