For those who have had 3D scans...

Which week did you get them done?

Currently pregnant with DC3 and contemplating a 3D scan seeing as this will be our last baby.

I'm 13 weeks at the moment, so don't see much point getting one done before the 20 week scan, but ultimately don't see the point in getting one done past 35+ weeks...

When would you say is the 'best' week for a 3D scan? And was you pleased with the experience?

@TripleEspressoAndADoubleLatte if your looking to find out the gender go at 16 weeks. If your looking a clear image on baby's face go around 27-32 weeks. X

I had one at 28 weeks with my 4th dc. It was amazing and would totally recommend it to anyone.

I had one at 18 weeks or so to find out the sex.

Going back next week at 29 + 3 to see our wee mans face.

The sonographer said if you want to see them all cute and chubby the best time is around 30 weeks.

We had one at 28 weeks it was amazing could see all of baby clearly and her little face and features was amazing x

I had one at 16 weeks when I was finding out the sex, and then another at 27/28 weeks. Both times were interesting but 27/28 weeks was better as you could see all of his features. Although I looked back on the pictures and can’t see any resemblance but the experience was lovely!

Mine looked like a squashed evil goblin, it is funny now we know he turned out as cute as any other baby, but it was quite upsetting at the time.

We didn't do them with subsequent pregnancies!

Had one at 16 weeks and it was really freaky. My friend just had one also at 16 weeks and it’s so weird, I just didn’t know what to say! It doesn’t look very cute at all, my Mother likened it to one of those gooey alien toys we all had in the nineties .

I'm thinking 28 weeks might be a good week to go with then!

Not fussed about finding out the gender before the 20 week scan, and would love the baby to have 'proper' features by the time we have a 3D one if you know what I mean haha.

We had one at 24 weeks and it was amazing, made such a difference to me mentally my baby looks gorgeous cant wait to meet her now!!! am now 35 weeks and still cant look at the pics without going all gooey The reason we had it then was on the 20 week scan we couldnt find out the sex as it was being a pickle, so was pretty keen to find out asap - there was an offer on Groupon at the time (worth checking btw!) and it was GREAT!
