Hi everyone. Not sure how you add an image to this but I've had a faint positive on a freedom asda pregnancy test. Two infact on separate mornings. But.. I have the implanon in my arm. Does anyone know how likely it is that the faint positives are right? I've asked a doctor who said that it's unlikely but she didn't take a test or anything an adjust told me to make a new appointment for a blood test. Any advice would help!! Thanks ladies.

Blood test will be your best bet over a test.

That looks postive to me and not particularly feint either. I’m not sure how implanon affects them if at all

RMarieClaire · 02/03/2019 11:11

@Watford89 did the line come up in the test time?

I had the implant and was under the impression it was pretty much 100% effective but that does look positive. Definitely get to the doctors for a blood test to confirm. Have you had any other symptoms? Am assuming AF is late, hence the test?

MrFlibblesEyes · 02/03/2019 11:11

To me that looks positive but I've heard terrible things about the freedom brand tests! Maybe get a frer to try?

Watford89 · 02/03/2019 11:14

Yes, I'll be getting a blood test to confirm but I did a clear blue and got a negative? Granted that wasn't in the morning. And yes @rmarieclaire it came up almost straight away! Thanks everyone x

Also I don't know if it's worth mentioning. My implanon expires beginning of April. Not sure if this would make a difference. Thinking maybe it's ran out early?

That looks positive to me but I've never heard of the implant not working.

My understanding is that the expiry date is super conservative, they change an implant long before its contraceptive ability is affected so I doubt it ran out. Just proves that no method is 100% effective!

Hmm that does look positive but I’ve never heard of pregnancy whilst have the implant before.

What made you decide to do a pregnancy test OP? Have you been having some symptoms too?

Please keep us updated on this op!

I've read loads on here about those freedom tests handing out a lot of false positives. I'd definitely try something like a frer as clear blues aren't as sensitive.
