A New Low 😔

30 weeks pregnant with twins. Heartburn has always been bad but controlled mainly with Gaviscon. I had 2 lots tonight, one at 11pm and then another at 3am. One mouthful from the bottle (gave up on the spoon weeks ago 😂) usually sorts me out. Not tonight, another bout of heartburn/acid reflux comes on and this time I have to be sick 🤢 not content with just being sick I then simultaneously pee myself whilst being sick on the en-suite floor 😫😫

I’m absolutely mortified, DH gets up & helps me, starts running the shower so I can clean up, I then look down and there is blood all over my white vest. I’d been bitten my a mossie a couple of days ago, I must have scratched it whilst asleep & because I’m on blood thinners it’s bled quite a lot.

I’ve now given up on sleep for the time being & am sat on the sofa with the dog drinking a glass of milk.

I’m grateful every day that we finally managed to get pregnant but my god it’s testing my positivity right now.

Anyone else up at this ungodly hour???

Pregnancy isn't very glamorous is it? Sympathies from me. 30 weeks pregnant too with DC 4 and awake with my 20month old who has chicken pox and is very itchy. I was mortified at a few weeks ago when puking and did the same. I had a cough that was awful on my pelvic floor too and thanks to my gestational diabetes cough medicine was a no no. Ddog gave up hours ago and went back to bed 😂

earlybirdhasanap · 02/03/2019 04:03

I've done this twice in the last two weeks Blush i was mortified.

Rtmhwales · 02/03/2019 04:06

Not pregnant anymore here (thank god, delivered spontaneously at 31+6 and was thankful because I couldn't do it any longer). I often would be throwing up so forcefully with HG that I'd shit myself. Was lovey. Often just spontaneous vomit down the front of myself too. Gallbladder problems, sciatica problems. They prescribed morphine tablets the week before I gave birth because pregnancy was so horrendous (I didn't take them). The actual childbirth was a literal breeze after pregnancy. Men don't know how good they've got it.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

didihearthatright123456 · 02/03/2019 04:07

@NatureGal ah bless chickenpox can’t be much fun either.

I too have gestational diabetes but at the moment is under control with diet alone. I also had a hacking cough & Cold back in December which I’ve not truly shaken off yet.

You must be a prophet, dog just got off the sofa and went back to bed, probably to join in the snoring with DH 🤨

Hope your night gets a little easier xx

Don't be mortified! With childbirth on the horizon, a bit of pee is the least of your worries Grin

Seriously though, I've never had twins but I have been pregnant with GD twice, and neither time did I resemble a glowing swan. It will all be worth it when you meet your babies!

didihearthatright123456 · 02/03/2019 04:14

@earlybirdhasanap Flowers it’s grim isn’t it 😫

@rtmhwales - omg that sounds horrific Flowers Yes I can see how birth would seem a breeze after that .
someone said to me last week that for everyday you manage to keep the babies in there is a day less they spend in NICU. I totally get that but my god when you’re throwing & peeing at the same time you do wonder 😒

OP posts:
Rtmhwales · 02/03/2019 05:03

We had the NICU for 23 days but honestly everyone agreed he was better out of me in the incubator than in. And I agreed. But yes I can see what you mean, hoping it gets better.

HonniBee · 02/03/2019 05:17

I hear your pain. I'm 22 weeks and had a long awaited night out for dinner with friends last night. Must have had some dodgy shellfish because I've thrown up, and pissed myself, twice. Currently propped up on the sofa as lying down makes the nausea worse. I haven't slept in ages thanks to pregnancy insomnia. I'm exhausted and just want to sleep.

HonniBee · 02/03/2019 05:18

Oh, and the two year old is due up any minute. Hooray.

Middlrm · 02/03/2019 05:50

Yep up with a 3 month old 😂

I didn’t have half the problems with acid etc but had really bad morning sickness that lasted every part of Day and night I often would throw up so violently that the sick would splash back up into my face and I would wet myself as standard

The real pain was she. I had just washed my hair the effort of anything was awful I was so exhausted

The baby is tiring but at least I don’t feel sick 🤢... good luck your nearly there ❤️❤️

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/03/2019 06:54

12 weeks with dc5 and i can barely walk at times. Yesterday i threw up and had a nose bleed at the same time. My nose is constantly full of dried up blood. If i take my painkillers for spd i am dizzy and then violently sick.

28 weeks to go 😑

Oh and my two year old was up before 6am today 😥

Frizzy1986 · 02/03/2019 07:56

I remember shitting myself first time round. I tried my best to waddle to the toilet but didn't make it. Pooing myself in my tights on the landing is definitely one of my most special pregnancy moments.
Always a good thing to have lost your pride already. Makes the whole birth thing a lot easier.

Mrsmummy90 · 02/03/2019 08:13

Sending you massive hugs!
I had HG with dd but my pelvic floor was much better then. Thankfully only been sick a few times in this pregnancy and each time I've peed. Actually stuck a towel between my legs the last time I was sick 😂

Pregnancy can be disgusting a horrible! I really hope the next few weeks are a breeze for you xx

WeeBean · 02/03/2019 08:23

Feel your pain, regularly wee myself when being sick every day. It's so grim, only 16 weeks left...

Celebelly · 02/03/2019 08:32

Ugh the heartburn is the worst. Towards the end I'd end up waking up choking on acid and unable to breathe. It was horrible.

Happy to report it disappeared the instant I gave birth, at least!

instagland · 02/03/2019 08:32

I have had quite bad sickness with this pregnancy and a fair few colds too. I never thought my pelvic floor was that bad until I got pregnant. I have coughed and vomited so violently that I almost always wee. I think it's fairly normal. I never did this before, so hoping it will go. I have quite painful hips too from the off, so I'm putting it down to the relaxin in my system working it's magic on all my muscles and ligaments. I also have quite prominent veins, so have looked like a walking, talking giant piece of stilton cheese for the last 5 months.

My poor 4 year old had to witness me bent over the toilet puking while wee was cascading down my legs. I hope he isn't scarred.

Invest in some incontinence pads. They are a godsend. Most supermarkets do their own brand and they are a bit more discreet than buying a packet with 'tenalady' on. Pregnancy is not glamourous at all and the birth is much less dignified too unfortunately. I'm 37 weeks today, and look like a walrus after a 3 week all inclusive holiday. In some ways I can't wait to have my body back so I can wear normal clothes and walk more than a mile without being in pain, but I know the hard work starts when I do!

WiseBlankie · 02/03/2019 08:37

Hugs, OP.

One weekend (I was only 14 weeks at the time) I wore myself out so much doing things around the house (painting and such - we have just moved) that in the evening I tripped over my own feet from exhaustion and, as I fell to the floor, my bladder decided to let go, and I peed myself. My husband had to help me up out of a puddle of my own wee, undress me and put me in the shower. I can only imagine what two babies at 30 weeks can do to your dignity. ;)

didihearthatright123456 · 02/03/2019 10:33

Thanks everyone, you’ve given me a chuckle and made me realise I’m not alone in losing all dignity. Although I haven’t pooed myself yet but given my current state of constipation that would be a miracle 😂😂

Only a max of 7 weeks to go, I think my heartburn & pregnancy insomnia are preparing me quite well for the sleepless nights ahead

Xx

Bless you OP, not long to go now. I think my low was when I was vomiting the day before my delivery (elcs), then I ate grapes to settle my stomach, then vomited again with such force the grapes came out my nose. I have never wished it to be tomorrow so bad.

Angelmiracle · 02/03/2019 12:26

Ask your GP about taking ranitidine or Omperazole for the reflux they really help!

practicallyperfectmummy · 02/03/2019 12:53

Oh no op, feel your pain I'm struggling this week also. But just to say milk makes reflux and heartburn worse. It will initially soothe but then will repeat on you. If gaviscon isn't working move onto ranatadine will hopefully make your last few weeks easier.
