What on Earth is my body doing?

On 6th January I had a late miscarriage at 19 weeks. I bled for two weeks after but had what I thought was a normal period three weeks ago (one month afer the miscarrige).

My next period is due in 6 days, so on 7th March, assuming I had a 28 day cycle.

Problem is, I went for a wee yesterday morning and there was pale/pink blood on the toilet paper. I had a bit of red bleeding after than but it stopped after an hour or two. I wondered if it might be implantation bleeding (yes, we were stupid so soon after - I admit that and no we're not trying for another baby yet).

This morning I bled a tiny amount of red blood again but like yesterday it stopped after. This bleeding was definitely vaginal.

This evening I decided to do an early test as a friend said you could do a test two days after what you think might be an implantation bleed. It was negative as expected BUT in my urine there were lots of bright red blood clots. I'm certain the blood I lost yesterday and today wasn't from my bladder but the clots in the urine were, so what's going on? Why bleed very briefly two days in a row and have it stop both times? It's surely too early to be a period and too light, so could it be implantation bleeding to happen like this?

It might be your body just trying to get back to normal. I had a miscarriage in May, I bled for 18 days then the next month I had a small bleed for 2 days then stopped and started again heavy it’s odd but maybe it’s your body just trying to recover. No shame in trying so soon after, I was pregnant 3 months after our miscarriage. I’m sorry for your loss, can’t imagine losing baby that late x

@Lou0219 - thank you for your reply and I'm very sorry to hear of your loss too. Hard, isn't it?

I was carrying twins and sadly lost them both. It may well be my body trying to get back to 'normal' - whatever that might be. I hope so, anyway. I'm not physically or mentally ready for another pregnancy just yet.

Did you have a scan to check there were no ‘retentained products’ (horrible phrase)?

Squiff70 · 03/03/2019 16:39

Hi @mellongoose

I'm bleeding more today (although still not a lot) so think it's an early period. I did a HPT yesterday which was negative but will test again in a couple of days.

@Jackshouse, I didn't have a scan after the babies were delivered. I had to have surgery to remove the placenta which came out like a jigsaw puzzle apparently. They think they got it all out.
