Hi...So a bit of a long one...and will need expert cycle calculators and conception obsessors LOL...SO...been ttc since october...First few months done all the right stuff...cut out alcohol & improved my diet...took folic acid and done ovulation tests and tracked cycle and ovulation on flo...3 months in...started getting obsessed with it...and dissapointed with negatives..and living life like i was pregnant before i even was(dramatic i know as 3 montbs is nothing in ttc) but nonetheless...its how i felt...so we started to relax more...stopped using opk had wine with dinner of a weekend...Ect...Anyway...Last month in january...I done some tests a few days before my period as i had a birthday party to attened and wanted to be sure i wasnt pregnant before drinking a lot and partying the night away...And i got faint positives on a few tests!...My period was due january 25th so i just waited it out...AND IT CAME...So i re tested and it was negative!! (Possibly a chemical or dodgy tests).Needless to say i went to the party...and got pretty drunk with friends...Fast forward to this month...Period was due weds 27th feb...Done a test monday 25th...HUGE BFP...So thought great...Im defo pregnant...Here we go Smile Just went to chemist to get a digital...and im pregnant by 2-3 weeks??...so im 4 to 5 weeks pregnant...which doesnt add up...I have a 35 day cycle so should only be 3-4 weeks...Scared i was pregnant last month...but too early for tests to show...And i drank ect ect (driving myself mad) but whats the chances i would have my period bang on time...and 2 negative tests??...HELP

2-3 weeks could mean 2 weeks, which means you’d be 4 weeks, and you think you’d be 3-4 weeks so that would fit? Alternatively maybe it’s a multiple pregnancy so your hcg levels would be higher? I’m definitely not an expert on that though so I’m not sure.

GabbyGal · 01/03/2019 10:51

Also don’t worry about drinking if you are further along than you thought. The placenta is only forming at this stage so the risk of any damage is very low.

GemmaJen · 01/03/2019 10:53

I wouldn't panic, the clear blue just give an indication of weeks. Everyone's HCG levels rise at different rates, it's also possible you may well have ovulated early in your current cycle. But either way don't obsess over it, and a bit of alcohol early on is not the end of the world, many people drink early on when they don't know they're pregnant and go on to have healthy babies. Congratulations on your BFP 😊

My3boys9910 · 01/03/2019 11:04

@GemmaJen @GabbyGal Thankyou so much...youve really reassured me...If i had a 28 day cycle i would be more with it...But does the 35 day cycle mean my pregnancys will always date earlier than the norm...That was my confusion...yes on a 28 day cycle i would be 4 weeks...But shouldnt i only be 3 weeks with a 35 day cycle??...My flo app says im 5 weeks+1...But even so like you say it says 2-3...so that could mean 2...On another thread of mums to be that got bfp same time as me...their clear blues were saying 1-2 on 28 day cycles..so i was freaking out...

@My3boys9910 I wouldn't worry about your cycle length determining dates at this point. When you have your 12week scan your due date will be adjusted in line with babies growth. I got an early BFP at 8dpo and have had a number of scans since, my dates keep moving a couple of days here or there based on growth. Babies grow at slightly different rates so a change in a couple of days is pretty normal.

My3boys9910 · 01/03/2019 11:16

So thats my feb cycle prediction on flo...Blue days are fertile...Blue circle is ovulation...love hearts are sex...and only done it once during blue days...so im saying thats the one that done it...

Your right @GemmaJen...Im not fussed if it was defo this month...my only worryvwas tgat it was last mobth...and id be near on 10 weeks...But being rational...the clearblue goes as high as 3+ weeks...so it would of said that...Thanks x

Looking at your dates, I would say it's the 10th February sex that has resulted in the pregnancy and the sperm waited to fertilise the egg on the 12th.

That places you at 2 weeks 3 days since conception, meaning the Clear Blue is correct, which makes you 4 weeks 3 days pregnant.

The dates are right.

TokenGinger · 01/03/2019 11:24

Ps the Flo app isn't majorly accurate. It just takes guesses. My conception date ended up being nowhere near what it thought my ovulation date was.

TerriB1984 · 01/03/2019 11:32

This is exactly why using LMP to date a pregnancy is wildly innacurate but unfortunately prior he the use of scans etc it’s all they had to go on and it’s stuck. If you have a 35 day cycle based on LMP you will be dated a week ahead of somebody with a 28 day cycle even if in reality you conceived at the same time. The CB test is weeks from conception (referenced from ovulation). It is a guide only and as a PP pointed out 2-3 weeks could mean 2. If you did another test it could come back as 1-2 And still mean you are 2 weeks. So I wouldn’t worry too much. Once you have your scan that will be the date they use going forward.

Cookit · 01/03/2019 11:33

Am I missing something, but that’s right isn’t it?
The day your period is due is 14 days past ovulation. Cycle lengths are very different per person but the luteal phase is almost always 12-16 days.
So you would be 4-5 weeks given its past when your period was due.

My3boys9910 · 01/03/2019 11:48

@TokenGinger....thankyou...you sound right and thats ny gut feeling of when it happened even tho that sounds silly...I do only go by flo for dates...so i cant be sure...and if their inaccurate i know the possibilites are endless...like i said im not worried as such..if i didnt have that scare last month...i would just go with the flow until my scan...but those fait positives last months just badly played on my .knd...especially as my pregnancy tests were so bright...before i even missed my period...But thankyou all so much.So nice to have people take time to answer...X

I though having a longer cycle made me conceive later & therefore have earlier pregnancy in weeks...so i though i was 3 weeks...But if longer cycles dont mean that...and its pretty much the same for 28 dayers...Im happy

@My3boy9910 I could literally have written your post. 35-39 day cycles and had 'period' 31st Jan and started using OPKs for the first time afterwards to try and work out when ovulation was actually happening. Got strong positives on OPKs all last week which go on googling I read could a sign of pregnancy so took a digital this morning and it's showing 2-3 weeks! According to apps I was fertile last week so not sure when I actually got pregnant. Must have been just after period!

My3boys9910 · 04/03/2019 17:36

@HeartvsHead bless you...congratulations...If your cycle varies...maybe this one has been differant aswell??...Do you think maybe the 31st was an implantation bleed??...Also...maybe it was a multiple pregnancy and one miscarried??And that was the bleed??Will be interesting to find outvon our scams wont it...I done another test today...and says 3+ weeks....So its gone from 2-3 on friday...to 3+ within 3 days...

My3boys9910 · 04/03/2019 17:38

Kind of sounds right for you tho...as op have said...it could mean 2 rather than 3...your period is 6 days later than mine...And my tests are a week in front of yours...so id say your on track for your dates Smile

OP posts:
HeartvsHead · 04/03/2019 20:54

I did another test this morning and it said 3+ so who knows!

The test yesterday was late afternoon as got my first positive on a ic in the morning and then sent hubby out for digital. Be interesting to get the due date at the scan.

When do you think you will ring doctors for booking appointment?

afternoontwee · 04/03/2019 21:58

This happened to me with Flo, I measured 6 days ahead on my 12 week scan. Looks like I ovulated almost immediately after my period finished!

My3boys9910 · 05/03/2019 07:38

@HeartvsHead i done an online midwife referal...So im waiting on them writing to me for an appointment.X

OP posts:
HeartvsHead · 03/04/2019 11:54

@My3boys9910 how are you getting on? Have the midwives been able to shed any light on things for you?

I had a private scan and everything was measuring slightly ahead so think my 'period' on 31st Jan was a fake!

My3boys9910 · 04/04/2019 09:05

Hi @heart yeah i paid for an early scan...all good for my dates of lmp being 25th jan...im 10 weeks tomorrow...how are you

OP posts:
My3boys9910 · 04/04/2019 09:09

Im so ill...have been since 6 weeks...was put on cyclizine...but didnt help...had my midwife booking in appointnent tuesday & had 3+ keytones in my urine...so she sent me to hospital...had to be put on a drip for fluids & was perscribed ondasetron...and its day 2 on that...& i still feel like death...tho i havent vomitted...(feel like it still though) :(

OP posts:
HeartvsHead · 04/04/2019 22:28

@my3boys9910 sorry to hear that. Sounds awful! Hope you feel better soon!

I had an early scan and measured 2 weeks ahead of LMP date so and either 9 or 11 weeks today. The sonographer wouldn't commit to a due date though as was quite early on. Waiting for my NHS scan date to come through!
