They will tell you at your dating scan, anything else is just a guess

Megan2018 · 27/02/2019 16:35

I'd say 3 weeks but you won't know for sure until a scan.
I expect the wheel didn't account for your long cycles?

I've not used the Flo app but can't see how you can possibly be 5 weeks. Was the 25 Jan the first day of last period?

My3boys9910 · 27/02/2019 16:36

Never had a dating scan with my other 3...just the 12 week scan...

The flo app is really misleading as it shows the week you're in rather than what you're actually. I've realised this when I noticed the +7. So when it's showing 4+3 it really means you're on day 3 of week 4. Hope that makes sense? :)

My3boys9910 · 27/02/2019 16:37

I found it strange aswell...Megan2018 Yeah 25th was the first day of my last period...Not too bothered...was just a bit like ???!! 2 weeks is a big jump...x

The nhs app asked for cycle aswell as last period...so im more inclined to go with that...But i like flo for all the info...so a bit annoying

The 12 week scan IS the dating scan...

NoParticularPattern · 27/02/2019 16:57

So standard calculator (without accounting for long cycles) will put you at 5 weeks on Friday (so 4+5 today). If you say you ovulated 3 days later than “standard” you’ll be 4+2 today. They’ll use the 25th Jan to calculate a rough due date and date for your 12 week scan (dating scan) but atbthe dating scan you’ll be given your official due date. It gets confusing because at the point of ovulation you’re technically already 2 weeks pregnant. Anyway the date isn’t so far out and they’ll get an accurate one from baby’s measurements at your dating scan.

DappledThings · 27/02/2019 16:58

If your last period started on 25 January you will be 5 weeks on Friday. This give you a due date of 1 November.

It may well change at the 12 week dating scan by a few days.

Cel982 · 27/02/2019 16:59

You need to think of the day you ovulated as being 2 weeks pregnant. So, if you have a regular 35-day cycle and your LMP was Jan 25th, then you ovulated 3 weeks later, around Feb 15th. And if you were 2 weeks pregnant on Feb 15th, you are now almost 4 weeks pregnant. Pregnancy wheels etc. will be wrong because they work off a 'standard' 28-day cycle.

It'll all be confirmed at the 12-week scan, so please don't stress about it at all. Congratulations!

Cel982 · 27/02/2019 17:01

Sorry, missed the bit where you said you ovulate on Day 17. This would be unusual in a 35-day cycle as the luteal phase is usually consistent at 14 days, but if it's right it'll affect your dates by a few days obviously.

NoParticularPattern · 27/02/2019 17:01

Just to say also that my due dates have always moved at my dating scans. One went back by 3 days and one forwards by 2. Cycle length was the same for both so it seems these things are very variable. Your 12 week scan can be any time between 11 and 14 weeks to get the measurements they need so even a variation of a couple of weeks should harm their ability to do what they need to.

GabbyGal · 27/02/2019 17:03

On the Flo app, go to settings -> pregnancy mode -> displaying of weeks and change to completed. That way it shows you how many weeks are actually completed rather than what week you are in.

Congratulations!

delilahbucket · 27/02/2019 17:13

You will be given a more accurate date when you have your 12 week scan. For now though it doesn't really matter. Term is anywhere between 38-42 weeks realistically. In France they often don't give a due date, just a rough guide.

My3boys9910 · 27/02/2019 17:58

Thanks everyone...i know it seems ott to be confused...im not stressed over it...Just nice to know...and track things on my apps as differant stuff happens week by week...And 3 to 5 is a bit of a jump...My firstt 3 cycles of ttc i was doing ovulation tests...and got positive ovulation tests on the 17th day of my cycle so stopped testing as i was confident i had sone regularity...So im just guessing day 17 or 18 the egg realeased...Day 17 this month was feb 10th!...We done the deed 6 days before...then bang on the 10th...and not for 3 days after that...so it kind of adds up that i ovulated on the 10th feb...Obviously impantation cant be pin pointed...I track my cycle by countibg the days between each period starting..And its been 35 days each month for 5 months bang on...But ive never tracked cycles or ovulation or period dates for that matter in my life...so it is all new to ne even tho im a mum of 3!...Thanks again guys

On the picture on Flo, click settings and change the weeks from current to completed x

My3boys9910 · 27/02/2019 18:07

@gabbygal thankyou!I dont have the completed option on settings?Or pregnancy mode...Just asks me if i want to activate pregnancy mode & when i do...It says you are 5 weeks...So i just assumed this was most accurate as it tracks my ovulation periods and when i have sex!!Annoying

You would think flo of all the apps would have cycle and ovulation all in consideration...Il just go with the 3 weeks the nhs said...But like you all say...at the 12 week scan i will know...But like many of us...every week is a drag lol!

Yeah Flo really confused me too until I changed the settings to completed.

I had 35-37 day cycles after stopping the pill so they dated my pregnancy based on last period. They changed it when I went for the 12 week scan, where they changed it by 5 days and that made sense based on my cycles so could be the same for you?

Congrats on your pregnancy!

My3boys9910 · 27/02/2019 18:25

Sounds about right @mrsk28 and im coming up on flo as 4 weeks+6 so i could well be around 4weeks...Thankyou so much x

www.yourduedate.com is really good in situations like this and was spot on for me at my 12 week scan (I ovulate on day 23 of a 32 day cycle)

My3boys9910 · 28/02/2019 08:05

@justincase87 thankyou i will try it Smile
