Lower back pain and period pain type ache

I'm 31 weeks and 3 days pregnant.
Since yesterday I've had pretty consistent lower back pain and a few episodes of abdominal discomfort... its not severe and isn't like defined contractions more of a crampy ache. There's no pattern to the pain.
Since this morning I've been feeling really uncomfortable with both as it has got worse throughout the morning.

This morning I was also at the hospital for a scheduled CTG due to numerous episodes of reduced movement.
I mentioned the back pain but the midwife wasn't interested.. she seemed a bit overwhelmed with her workload.
I've had a quick look at the CTG and there were a few peaks on the TOCO (one significant one at the start and two smaller ones) and the machine registered 3 contraction peaks but the midwife didn't say anything so i assume they were BH contractions?

Is it likely the pain is due to BH? Could it be early labour?
Is it worth pestering the GP/hospital with this? Should i just wait until Friday until my next CTG and mention it then if it persists?

Ahh pregnancy melts my brain.
I had my daughter at 36 weeks but labour started with my waters breaking so i don't really know what to look out for with regards to early labour and I had no BH contractions during the pregnancy.

Hi, could you call the number on your notes and ask them? Hopefully they were just Braxton Hicks but I think it's best to call for reassurance.

My labour started with lower back pain so I'd want to check. Any chance it could be a UTI too?

My last lo arrived at 29 weeks and I'm now 29 weeks tomorrow with dc2. Cant count he number of times I've been in since week 24 as I have irritable uterus, where often painful braxton hicks can come 2-5 mins apart. So far I've not been in labour yet but the midwives have always been lovely and never discourage me from going. If you're not sure please call at least, prem labour happesa fast and the begining can differ from term labour. Always get checked.
