20 week scan

20 week scan today and two questions that I forgot to ask my midwife!
Do I need to pee in the pot before I get there?
Do I need a full bladder for the scan?

I’d recommend peeing in the pot, like, an hour before your appointment, or something, then drinking a lot of water. I was told that a half-full bladder was best for the 20-week scan - if it’s too full you can always empty it. I ended up bursting when I got there, but I’d drunk an awful lot of water beforehand, and it topped itself up again after I’d visited the toilet (had to empty it again part-way through the scan, at the request of the sonographer - it’s great when they have toilets located next to the scan rooms!)

I was told I didn’t need a full bladder for 20 week scan and didn’t need to do a urine sample then either. Good luck.
