I've taken 2 pregnancy tests today and not sure what they mean. Are they invalid? Pic attached.

Thanks in advance

I'd say these were invalid/faulty. As only test line has been dyed

MyNameIsABCDE · 26/02/2019 19:28

But what are the chances of 2 being faulty in a row or am I doing something wrong?

Are you sure they are not upside down? Then they would read negative.

Waitingonasmiley42 · 26/02/2019 19:35

They are negative. If you spin them around they'd have 1 line on the right like the negative picture.

MyNameIsABCDE · 26/02/2019 19:35

Yeah they are the right way round. The Ts are on the left by the pink cap. Hmm, maybe I should test again tomorrow

I’d try a different brand. It might be a faulty batch.

MyNameIsABCDE · 26/02/2019 19:38

Thanks @whitevixen any recommendations for a good brand to buy?

MyNameIsABCDE · 26/02/2019 19:39

I hope they are invalid rather than negative... I've still got my fingers crossed...

When is your period due?

The First Response Early Results tests are pretty reliable. I believe Superdrug own brand are quite good too, but I’ve never used those. The main thing to make sure is that it’s a pink dye test rather than blue, blue ones are notorious for ‘evaporation’ lines which look like a positive result but they’re not.

Or just get yourself a batch of these from Amazon.

Easterbuns1 · 26/02/2019 19:45

How late are you? Sometimes a really strong positive can pull the dye from the control line but I wouldn't expect that at a few dpo and more being a few weeks late.

WhiteVixen · 26/02/2019 19:45

Hope you get the result you want.

keepforgettingmyusername · 26/02/2019 19:46

How far gone are you? Have you any left? Try diluting your wee and dipping it in.

sh13 · 26/02/2019 20:13

Rush out and buy another one ! 🤞🏼

MyNameIsABCDE · 26/02/2019 21:53

@keepforgettingmyusername I did have another one of the same cheapies so I watered the urine down a bit and now it is a negative. Sad Maybe I'm just dehydrated? I have been needing the loo a lot today and a bit worried I have a urine infection.

@WhiteVixen I've just ordered some of those for next time

The thing is I have polycystic ovaries so can never tell when I'm ovulating but I'm currently on cycle day 49 and have just felt pregnant over the last few days.

oh well. Fingers crossed for a positive sometime soon

Thanks for all your help

@MyNameIsABCDE and did the control line show up on the watered down test? I reckon it's a batch of faulty tests but if you haven't got your period you could still be pregnant of course.

MyNameIsABCDE · 26/02/2019 22:08

yeah keepforgettingmyusername the watered down test was just the control line.

It's my husband's birthday tomorrow and I was hoping to surprise him with a positive pregnancy test... I'll just have to have lots of sex with him and celebrate the fact that I can enjoy a drink and not be on my period yet!

Just take a non dodgy test tomorrow morning and see how it goes before you throw your hands up
