My whole body aches

Just that. I’m 36+5 and gradually the pain is getting worse. My ankles and feet are painful from swelling but the pain is now all the way up my legs, my arms hurt right down to my fingertips and my back and pelvis area hurt when I walk. I feel like I’ve been beaten up or had a very intense workout yesterday which has strained all my muscles (which of course I hadn’t). Today I’m struggling to get out of bed and walking up and downstairs is a massive challenge. I’m 5ft and have a tiny frame, I was underweight prior to pregnancy so don’t know if that’s anything to do with it? I just feel like my body can’t take it anymore. Is this normal?

Sudden swelling in feet and feeling unwell are signs of preeclampsia. You need to be checked out.

How long have you been feeling like this? I agree you should be seen. I’m 35 weeks and struggling, but I have been since about 22 weeks when the SPD kicked in and I have good days and bad days. No swelling and the pain is in my back and pelvis, which is to be expected with spd. Arm pain sounds very unusual.

I agree you should get checked out but don’t panic, could be totally normal. Arm swelling and pain is common in third trimester - google carpal tunnel in pregnancy. I’m experiencing similar at 34 weeks. My whole body hurts by the end of the day. I think warning signs are when swelling is very sudden and is accompanied by headache or visual issues but think it’s sensible to get checked out.

Hi thanks for replying. I had my 36 week midwife appointment two days ago and felt the same then as I do now really, urine was clear and my blood pressure was ok, a little low if anything, and my feet/ankles have been swollen for a while now so she said she wasn’t concerned. In fairness I’m definitely not getting my feet up enough but I haven’t got time to at the moment. I don’t feel poorly, my whole body is just massive aching and I’m struggling to walk anywhere. I never expected my arms/legs to hurt this much x
