I’m 36 weeks and last few days I’m crazy hungry constantly!

I think I’ve done pretty well during the pregnancy so far when it comes to food given the different stages but I am literally wanting to stuff myself at the moment.

Eating small portions but more often since I’ve been feeling nauseas again and indigestion / heartburn / acid reflux etc.

Any recommendations?

Been eating things like nuts / oats / fruits / ice lollies / obsessed with ice cream oops / not so great carbs than what I would like simply as I can’t eat much rich foods without bringing it back up etc and some textures are making me want to heave again.

What else can I eat to keep my fuller for longer so I’m not pigging out that isn’t rich textures and tastes?

I’ll be glad when baby is here! Haha

I’m 23 weeks, and have recently started to become very hungry. Eating the amount I want to eat has led to heartburn, and not eating it leaves me ravenous!

For the heartburn, I recommend Gaviscon double action tablets (I’m sucking one right now, in fact). They seem a lot better than the plain ones. Cheapest way to get them is in the largest-available pack, usually.

For the being ridiculously hungry, best thing I’ve found is a chest infection. I’ve lost a lot of my appetite, and have returned to eating normal amounts of food. It is such a relief!

(The food aversions are a bit worse with the infection, alas, and I’ve felt pretty rough! Obviously I’m not actually recommending this as a course of action. The relief at not having to find things to eat all the time is huge, though. I reckon two more days of this, then the big eat will re-commence...)

Good luck! Soon you won’t have to worry about feeling like this - you’ll be able to eat normal food like normal people! In the meantime, I hope that other people have much better advice than mine.

Are you a healthy weight for this pregnancy?

Honestly I'd just pig out, myself. Pregnancy is so uncomfortable to begin with, I'd be loathe to limit myself.

I’ve been having Gaviscon and Rennie I think it’s called - also Apple cider vinegar in water as I don’t want to rely too much on gaviscon type stuff! Yesterday was a good day for not much heartburn thank goodness 😂

I think food over a chest infection is better 🤣

Weight wise I haven’t been weighing myself and neither has the midwife’s so I’ve no idea how much I’ve gained to be honest. They’ve been happy with baby development and growth and docs have been happy with my overall health during pregnancy as had some reduce movement so been in and out so I’m guessing I’m ok.

In this last trimester I’ve definately had swelling and feels like water weight but could be normal weight I’m not sure - bump has gotten big over last couple of weeks that’s for sure! I do feel like weight has gone more to bump than anywhere else but still a few weeks left to go yet so no idea if this will change.

I guess I’ll just keep snacking as healthy as possible / what I can tolerate 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

Alas, my hunger has returned. That was too brief a respite. Maybe I should stop taking the antibiotics? (I won’t - being hungry is more fun than not being able to breathe and taking the human race closer to running out of antibiotics. It’s no joking matter 😉)

Oh to have an appetite similar to my stomach’s capacity!
