hello everyone
I am 38+ 3 weeks pregnant and feel like i am about to get my second migraine within a week.
The last one was off-the-scale painful. although i am prone to migraines it was like nothing id had before - i was in agony for hours and felt terrible the whole of the next day too.
Now i feel the first twinges of a headache and i am really scared its going to develop into another migraine.
has anyone else experienced this in late pregnancy? i had bad migraines in my first trimester but after 16 weeks they went.
I just rang the antenatal clinic and they said ring your GP. The GP clinic was totally useless and just gave me a number for NHS direct and a local hospital.
Although I am okay just now i am scared its going to get bad tonight or over the weekend.
The GP out of hours service seems patchy at best. (they were advising me to go to the 'small injuries clinic' at a hospital miles away. Er....?!?!)
I realise MNetters are not doctors but would be interested in any thoughts/advice people have or if anyones experienced anything similar. My blood pressure was last tested a week ago (in fact just before the migraine) and it was absolutely fine, as it has been all through the pregnancy. Could it have changed for the worse since then? Am i over-reacting?

absolutely not over-reacting

severe headache, especially with visual disturbances need checking immediately, even if your BP was fine last week..and your urine should be checked too for protein

might not be anything, but certainly can be a symptom of pre eclampsia, and should be thoroughly checked out.

thanks for that lulumama..why do these things always happen at weekends when doctors go off
